I am currently trying to make my own little lego nook in my room. I've started my "need to buy" list and started my lego nook funds. my only challenge is that I don't know what type of lamp would have a gentle light and not a harsh lot. a google search has only resulted in lamps made out of legos.

Anyone has any suggestions? I'd looking for something no more then about 30 bucks since I have a limited hobby budget and the nook items i'm getting will be running me about $100. thanks

Then it's not the lamp you should be worried about, it's the type of bulb. You want a gentle light, but that may make it hard to distinguish between certain colors. So you essentially need to choose between soft, bright, and daylight bulbs.

You may also want to consider that fluorescent bulbs might harm your LEGO with UV light, while incandescent and LED bulbs won't.

But your problem is the bulb, not the lamp - you can get any lamp that takes a standard bulb for a very cheap price.

thing is that as far as colors, I am almost never picky when it comes to building and I prefer the multi color builds to uni-color since I think it looks more interesting. So I don't need bright lights.
