paul_delahaye Posted October 6, 2013 Posted October 6, 2013 Think this deserves to be seen to be believed (unfortunately my camera skills won't do it justice), Model team? Technic? (it has moving parts), all credit to Ed Diment and the Bright Bricks Team This thing is huge! Even the turbine blades were curved, very cool Quote
paul_delahaye Posted October 6, 2013 Author Posted October 6, 2013 Here is another picture I've found of the hall, just to see the scale of this thing! Quote
zux Posted October 6, 2013 Posted October 6, 2013 I think it was discovered sometime ago that part of building process involved glueing to create impossible shapes and brick connections. That says much. Quote
Junpei Posted October 6, 2013 Posted October 6, 2013 Yeah, they glued parts to make impossible connections, I saw it in a Lego magazine a few years ago. Quote
Rishab N Posted October 6, 2013 Posted October 6, 2013 Wow looks huge! But it can't be considered a full lego cration if the used impossiible connectioins Quote
weavil Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 So that's where all the grey went!!! It maybe half scale, but it could be full scale of some jet engines. Anyways that's HUGE!!! Quote
Milan Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 Huge! Metal frame, but still very impressive! Quote
Junpei Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 I know it had to have a metal frame, but how hard can it be to avoid impossible connections at that scale? I just consider that a big plastic engine IMO. That is truly impressive though, impossible connections or not. Quote
CP5670 Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 This is an awesome model. I had a few meals with Ed Diment at the last Brickfair show, where he gave a talk on how this model was built. Apparently they had to limit the speed for safety reasons at public exhibitions, as running it faster actually generates significant airflow. Quote
Jeff Schield Posted October 12, 2013 Posted October 12, 2013 WOW! That is impressive to say the least. Quote
