Herky Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 I am new at this, designed something (only 95 bricks) in LDD, is there a way to print out a list of the bricks I used so I can go to the PAB wall and try to actually create my design? I am having trouble trying to figure out how to tell what to go buy, was fun to create but I actually want to do it now. Just not sure how or where in LDD I can figure that out. Thanks to anyone for the help on this. Quote
Calabar Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 LDD provide a list of bricks when you generate the building instructions. If you want to buy bricks using bricklink circuit, you can use LDD Manager that extract the list from the lxf file and convert it for bricklink. Quote
Herky Posted September 27, 2013 Author Posted September 27, 2013 ok, um to be honest, I am not sure what you mean, I just started using it and putting it together, so I might be a bit lost to this...when you say LDD provides a list of bricks when you generate the building instructions...how do you generate those? Sorry, I am one of those who just did it, didn't really stop to read instructions...but I like what I did so wanted to try to build it for real. I do not see a way to generate the instructions. thanks so much for helping Quote
Brawl Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 Very top right corner under the X is a button that will generate the building guide. You will have to export the instructions (button in the top right corner of instruction viewing screen) after generating them. It won't actually show you the list in the editor. Quote
Herky Posted September 28, 2013 Author Posted September 28, 2013 aha, I did it, got them, beautiful, thanks so much Brawl, not the sharpest knife in the drawer on this stuff, but with this, I can go to PAB and try to make my small LDD a reality, very much appreciated! Quote
Brawl Posted September 28, 2013 Posted September 28, 2013 Not a problem. I wish there was a PAB near me... Quote
Aanchir Posted September 28, 2013 Posted September 28, 2013 (edited) Another tip: if you just want a parts list, you can click File>Export BOM to create a spreadsheet! Edited September 28, 2013 by Aanchir Quote
Herky Posted September 30, 2013 Author Posted September 30, 2013 Thanks Aanchir, this would be easy to do as well, can just take that print out then...appreciate the tip! Quote
JM1971 Posted October 6, 2013 Posted October 6, 2013 rebrickable.com, you can upload a personal moc and it gives you a list with pictures and part numbers. Quote
Wodanis Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 Thanks for the info. You've made my life so much easier for making a spreadsheet. Quote
