just2good Posted November 12, 2013 Author Posted November 12, 2013 Despite my first reactions, now I'm really starting to like these seeing the final pictures. Thanks. Quote
TheRedGuy Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 (edited) Geez, Walmart is in a leaking spree, aren't they? Anyways, my favorite is definitely Splitter Beast, looks like he'll be the first Hero Factory set I buy in quite while. Edited November 12, 2013 by TheRedGuy Quote
ToaJaller78 Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 HOLY- That art............. Those designs....................... THEIR MINE. Quote
Aethersprite Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 Could someone upload these photos to a photo sharing site and link them here, if possible? They're quite difficult to view on mobile. Quote

Thanks for the link! Wow, these sets are looking better than I expected. I'm glad we're getting something new to HF, the 2.0 system was getting a bit old. Furno's mech and Splitter beast are my faves, and probably the only ones I'll be getting. Quote
bacem Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 just noticed that evo XL machine might have hip articulation. and uses 2 XT4's torso for his upper arm connection. Quote
Chro Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 Oh man, the top-of-the-bag concept art is just awesome. I'd like to note how the heroes are not shown instantly winning all the time- for example, Evo getting thrown around in the Splitter box art. just noticed that evo XL machine might have hip articulation. and uses 2 XT4's torso for his upper arm connection. Certainly looks like it... more articulation is good, as long as it doesn't sacrifice appearance to move around. Quote
DOTM Shockwave Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 *Looks at finalized set images* They look much better than before (obviously). So far, I'm planning on buying Splitter Beast and Rocka's Stealth Machine, Flyer Beast is a maybe. Quote
Vinyl Scratch Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 (edited) "Attention, heroes! SPLITTER Beast is a titanic two-headed beast guarding the biggest crevice in Antropolis City where the evil creatures are hiding. EVO and FURNO, we’ve equipped you with a laser lasso. Distract this brute with many eyes using the fire sword and gun while you tie its legs together to bring it down. But beware, it can suddenly split in two and cause double danger to you and the civilians! Includes EVO and FURNO mini robots with weapons and accessories." Antropolis City? Turns out it's not Makuhero after all. EDIT: Hua, "biggest crevice" where the evil creatures are hiding. yay pacific rim! Edited November 12, 2013 by Vinyl Scratch Quote
Pate-keetongu Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 Ah, love the art on the top of the bags. Very very cool that is. I think I am buying FLYER beast (stupid caps lock name) as it seems to have some neat colors. And that dude uses a iron girder as a weapon - Ouch. Splitter Beast's street light is quite cool bit too. Aanchir Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 I like seeing that the minifigs have so much potential for customization. Stormer and Evo both have arm-mounted datapads, and Breez has leg-mounted jets. That's a lot of connection points I can make use of as I try to build an Assembly Tower playset. Their helmets also DO have heads underneath, which hopefully means they'll work with either minifigs or microfigs. Furno Jet Machine is the set I like the best aesthetically. The others are very nice, though. Quote
_shaddow_ Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 (edited) After looking at the pictures, I'm Pretty sure Aanchir was right about the 1x1 cylinder brick for the head. The torso seems to be using the black skeleton torso from Castle 2008, with new arms, leg, helmets and a new armor piece, the hero core being a printed 1x1 circular tile. bacem Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 (edited) Head is standard minifig head :-) transparent? the new cockpit piece also seem to have many attachment points. still curious on how the minifig will sit on the cockpit. seeing that this is an official lego set, there's no way they gonna make the minifig just sitting on it without the minifig being properly attached to the cockpit trough some connection. Phantoka_Chirox Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 Turns out some of the kaijus are carrying city parts (street light, antenna). I love it. Also pretty happy with the unique builds. The standard hero build was getting pretty boring. Quote
DOTM Shockwave Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 Looking at Splitter Beast again, I noticed the upper jaw piece of the orange head is used as the lower jaw of the blue head, same for the blue upper jaw and orange lower jaw. If you knew this already, then I'm just slow. Quote
Shakar Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 One of the things I love the most is the large use of printed shells. I loved those in 2011! Bruizer and Pyrox used them, but they weren't very amazing I think. These look much better! Both the ones on the Beasts and on the Machines feature gorgeous designs. I don't see trans. bones though. DraikNova Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 (edited) Okay, while Splitter Beast seems a little too bright for me, it goes without saying that, if the episode looks like the art on the top of the bag, it will be the best ever. Anyway, Evo's XL machine seems pretty cool, and uses a minimum of technic (the designers are really getting the hang of the 2.0 system). And then that art showing him running away from those awesome-looking spider-creatures. Splitter Beast looks amazing, especially if you notice the different eye prints (a total of 6+4=10 eyes). I am wondering how the heroes plan to trip up something that could probably just step on the chain, or them, for that matter. That organic print on the lower legs is just . Flyer Beast looks nicer, seemingly having a skeletal theme (see the top-bag-art). It kind of reminds me of Pacific Rim's Knifehead. The difference in hands seems slightly silly, as doing away with that pole in exchange for another one of those three-part claws would work much better. The Stealth Machine looks amazing, and, surprisingly, stealthy. Furno's Jet Machine still looks pretty bad to me. The Freezer Machine seems unique, but slightly too spindly. Too bad Breeze doesn't get a mech instead of Evo's second one. EDIT@Shakar: They're the slightly more bleak looking blue bones on Flyer Beast, I believe. Edited November 12, 2013 by DraikNova Quote

I'm pretty sure the heroes will be able to plug to the cokpit piece using the peg on the back of the armor, which probably plug into a hole on the cokpit piece. Quote

Aanchir Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 (edited) let's just hope that those printed shells not turns out to be shells with stickers. if my memory serve me right, the trans bones are in jaw beast set, which we haven't got the final picture yet. Why would they be stickers when these are all parts that have frequently been printed in the past, and there are no stickers visible in the high-resolution images? I for one still doubt that any of Jaw Beast's bones are transparent. They didn't seem that way to me in the prelim pics. But perhaps that's just wishful thinking. After all, another size of Medium Azur beam will be much more useful than a single transparent light blue beam IMO. Still, it won't be so bad if I'm proven wrong. Shakar Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 I'm pretty sure JB has azure bones like the other two Beasts. JB uses the smallest bones on its lower legs.. and the same bone piece, in azure, is used on Flyer Beast's tail. So, so no tr. light blue bones. I wonder what Front was talking about then.... Quote
