There will be an M-Motor mounted elsewhere for gear shifting. UPDATE All functions tested and working (I guess you could say they're...functional ). Swapped out the steering worm gear and replaced it with a gear train. Takes up more space but you guys were right, worm gears hold no place in crawlers. So now it's time for the bodywork. Even so, with only one degree of freedom, it puts strain on pins, and eventually will affect the shock absorber. Besides, with multiple degrees of freedom, the suspension works better and more smoothly anyway. Quote

This is my crawler from a while ago and it seems to be the same setup as his The pieces which the bottom of the shocks are attached to have to be able to move side to side and I think his crawler has this setup....if not then he definitely needs to make it that way. They don't seem to be.. That's a nice crawler you got there. And the shocks are fine, Technyk32231. Lego can take some abuse. Yes, I know that Lego can take some abuse, but the suspension will work much better with two degrees of freedom, and with only one degree of freedom, it puts more strain on the suspension when it tries to articulate, and when going over obstacles, it won't always even function properly. Can't finish front wheel arches until I get the third party tires (hopefully will go tire shopping tomorrow). Also headlights aren't mounted to the body yet, still working on a fixture for some LEDs. Also, brush guard is a mock-up, not sure if I like the look of it. Larger photo here. Can you take a picture of the front wheel hubs? They look awfully familiar... Is this what you wanted?
