I think it'd look a bit out of place, having plastic t-shirts but cloth dresses. I not only think that plastic dresses are more likely, but I'd prefer them.

I think the cloth dresses/ skirts may be too difficult and tricky to get on by those little kids.

I'm actually really excited about this series. My two loves, LEGO and Disney. I'm not too happy about the minidolls, but it's the buildings I'm interested in. Disney movies deal a lot in historical times. I'll pick some up most likely.

Hi,

I want to share some news with you:

{sets}

greetings Hendrik

Nice! I'm hoping the Merida dress is the original one. I'm really curious about ALL of these sets. Thanks!

Thanks for the info, Hendrik! These descriptions sound like the sets have more girly colors than I had hoped, but I'll stay optimistic that they will still look as good as you and Corydoras claim they do. I'm glad to hear about the inclusion of some of the other characters though. I was hoping the Merida set would come with a bear, but a teddy bear? Maybe it's supposed to be one of her brothers?

I think that's likely. Hopefully not just a plush version of her mother in bear form to make it girly.

Yay a long lego hairpiece in that soft plastic! I also hope the sets don't look too pink and more film accurate. If so, they would be the first sets with minidolls I buy.

If those mini dolls are well designed and look a lot like in the movies, they'll earn my respect finally  I'm mostly curious about Rapunzel's hair as you can see... I wonder how long it is and if it's actually plastic *oh2*:oh:*huh*

It's very possible that the "teddy bear" is one of her brothers but it doesn't really fit the rest of the set so much. Did she have a teddy bear in that opening scene when she's younger and playing hide and seek with her mother?

Getting Flynn in the Tower set is great news. Now I'm hoping they include Pascal and Maximus. They'd only need one new mold for Pascal and it could be reused/utilized in the friends animal line. I don't see why they wouldn't put Maximus in there for playability's sake.

Exactly this is the "Teddy bear", I mentioned...(-;

Not for me. If those statements are true, maybe it interests me less since I'd like to see more iconic scens of these stories, not being too similar with other past princess-branded toys. I don't think "girly" should mean "no story".

Ah, thanks! Can you tell us more about the dresses and Rapunzel's hair, what they looked like and what material they seemed to be made out of?

As Cornelius said, the inclusion of one of her brothers as a bear doesn't make much sense for this scene. And why is it only one of them? Maybe they just really wanted to include a cute animal in the set. :def_shrug: I would have much rather gotten her mother in the set instead, but it's better than nothing I suppose.

Me too! :sweet:

I'm confused. How does this relate to me hoping that the sets wont have many girly colors? :look:

Regardless, I think these sets are very iconic and have plenty of story going on in them. The Ariel sets represent the iconic "Part of their World" and "Kiss the Girl" scenes. And what's more iconic than Cinderella's Carriage and Castle or Rapunzel being stuck in her tower and being visited by her rescuer? Not so sure about the Brave set as I am very unclear about what it is supposed to represent yet, but I'm sure it ties into the story of the movie somehow too.

I think the bear-brothers were a lot of people's favorite part of the movie. Honestly, the movie isn't liked enough or old enough to have anything really iconic in it, so the fact that LEGO seems to be going for a small set with a mishmash of people's favorite things makes sense to me. If it were a bigger set, LEGO could've done a take on the witch's house or something, but it's understandable that LEGO went for more iconic material for the big sets.

Since all of the brother-bears look the same, it's also understandable to only include one. It's like only including two ring-wraiths in Weathertop, basically. Since the set's cheap, people who really care can buy three and get the trio.

I'm most interested to see how Merida will look. I'm sure the hair will be great, but will she use the same super-duper skinny Friends torso? I'm hoping not, but I'm afraid yes. With a good dress part for the legs it might turn out fine, though.

Oh sorry, maybe I didn't get your word. Yes, the carriage and the tower are iconic parts I agree. I was saying that I hope the sets can be like other licensed themes than typical "Disney Princess Toy".

Romantic scenes are okay (while some other stories that include romance don't show in othe Lego sets.) I hope "girly" doesn't mean that we can't really wish something like Merida's fight with Mor'du. Or maybe I'm too suspicous and the next wave would be much better.

In my opinion, this would actually be a reason to include more since they wouldn't need any new molds or even prints to include them. Unlike with the Ring Wraiths, all they would have to do is include two more. I mean, what would anyone do with just one of the brothers? After all, what made them so interesting in the movie is the way they worked together. And I doubt that many are going to buy three of this set just for the bear.

I think Merida as a mini-doll could work. She's about as skinny as the other Disney princesses.

And yes, maybe Lego is banking on the fact that not many people have seen or remember the movie to notice any inaccuracies with the set. But then why make a set based on it at all?

I see what you're saying and I wholeheartedly agree, but I'm afraid this is going to be a fairly typical Disney Princess theme in that it will be mostly void of conflict. At least that's what the first wave appears to be. As you said, let's hope for some more "atypical" sets down the line.

I have high expectations of this theme, as a parts pack. Shame about the Friends-style figs, but if it will help sales, so be it. Looking forward to pictures. Funny that the Little Mermiad and Cinderella sets seem to be the same for both the DUPLO and System themes, I guess that's because of their iconic status. The System Castle does sound more accurate than the DUPLO one, though...

My 3 year old wanted to watch Merida last night, so we watched it. Made me excited for the upcoming sets. Highland Games could be linked to when she "shoots for her own hand" against the other kingdoms. Although, unfortunately, they probably won't include a more battle ready Merida complete with banner insignia. That's just my castle love showing through.

It won't matter how the sets look, we will buy them for our daughter and she'll love them. We aren't the target audience here people...

Here's the set pictures for this theme! I believe that one of the sets is missing; these five were all I was able to find.

41051 Merida’s Highland Games

41052 Cinderella’s Enchanted Carriage

41053 Ariel’s Magical Kiss

41054 Rapunzel’s Tower of Creativity

41055 Cinderella’s Castle Romance

I was browsing around looking for some other themes and stumbled across them on http://www.tamayk.com. I couldn't actually find them by searching on the website itself, but rather googling the term:

Lego "[iNSERT KEY WORD FROM SET HERE]" tamayk

I'm sure you can find pictures for many other themes using that method. I myself only spent the time looking for a few themes. :)
