Shadows of Nar Eurbrikka — Introduction and Discussion

We've been discussing the possibility of a deadline extension for this episode. However, since I know a lot of you have worked hard to finish by this current deadline, we think it'd be best to ask: how would you feel about a deadline extension by a week or two?

I'm absolutely fine with that. What's the fun in a contest without participants (from the good side of course)? I hope extending the deadline would bring in a lot of creations that otherwise would have been smothered by a lack of time.

I don't care all that much, but I think it will be best to extend the deadline.

At first, I thought I would not be able to reach the deadline, but I started building yesterday a bit and realised that with current restrictions it was not all that fun to build for me.

But I think others might appreciate a extension of the building time.

I must admit in general I'm not too fond of late rule changes or last minute extensions, but I don't have a problem with extending the deadline.

One thing I would like you to consider though is not letting control of Tatooine be determined by the outcome of this episode, for three reasons:

1) I think it fits better with the Star Wars canon that Tatooine remains lawless/Hutt controlled

2) It fits better with the mission. The mission takes place on Tatooine, but it is not a battle for control of the planet.

3) Diversity of environments for free builds. We have multiple options for building swampy scenes or run-down bars, but only one desert planet (afaik atleast). It is also more of a well known environment to those of us who know SW mainly from the PT/OT movies.

I agree with Fjotten about the Tatooine thing. It is one of the most iconic planets from Star Wars universe, was shown in all films but Empire, and should remain neutral. And how does surviving a sand storm gives you the control over an entire planet? And for next episodes, please do not include planets that are always available for free build.( Maybe, except for last episode, if there will be one)

Even though I had a very busy month and had no time for freebuilds my entry will be finished by tomorrow. I don't have anything against extending the deadline though I really doubt the ammount of entries will change significantly. Maybe just for a week? The wait for the results and the next episode is killing me after finishing my entry I also agree with everything said above me ...

I have no problem with extending the deadline (except that it means ep3 will be further away). :)

Maybe extend the deadline and subtract 1 XP for late entries - just a suggestion...

I have a couple of comments

- Extending the deadline on the day of the deadline doesn't really help the people that were working to get a build done, It helps those that hadn't really started on theirs yet. An extension at this point would be more to try to get other people that were not planning to enter.

- I agree with LegoFjotten that closing Tatooine based on this challenge would be a significant setback to freebuilds. That means that if the Rebels were to win, all Imperial free builds must be on Eurbrikkia or in space. Tatooine is the planet that people are most familiar with, and lends itself to builds with it's unique architecture.

- I would like to see more notifications in the other threads in the future if Episode guidelines are changed. If Mstr of Pppts had not posted in my Episode II entry, I would have had no idea that it was now illegal.

I agree. I didn't take part in this episode because it's definitely not my strength to build only with parts from a few sets. And I also wouldn't come up with anything if you gave me more time. And of course, it would be unfair.

I would be happy if I could join "SoNE" too ...

I tried to make a special minifigure, not an ordinary one. There's a lot of humans, some aliens such as Twill'eks, Abyssin ... So I've written "species" in Wookiepedia and chosen a random name. I made a Thisspiasian figure (Jedi Master Oppo Rancisis was from that species). Thisspiasians are very strange kind of being, they have sort of human head, four arms, they have no legs, they have a giant lizard tail. I couldn't make four limbs, so I gave him longer body instead of it. For tail, I used Dewback's. My character is Rebel, because it would be strange to see a snake-style being in a stormtrooper's armour. Thisspiasians are also very long-bearded, but my one's still young so he hasn't got much beard. You can expect some free-build soon, because winter holidays are coming and my son is going to build a lot of things in that time.
