M<0><0<DSWIM Posted July 19, 2013 Posted July 19, 2013 A year ago, I started a theme I call Bat Wars (a combination of Batman and Star Wars, duh). This is my 2nd build in the theme, the Batspeeder! After his aunt and uncle are killed by Darth Joker, Bruce Skywalker vows to learn the ways of the Force and becomes the Bat Knight, fighting crime across the galaxy and battling the evil Clown Empire. This is obviously a cross between Luke's Landspeeder and Batman's Batmoblie/Batboat. The real challenge here was making this both Batman-esque and Star wars-esue. The Bat Knight and his faithful sidekick, the Droid Wonder, R0-B1-N. Quote
Dapper-D2 Posted July 19, 2013 Posted July 19, 2013 I just saw this on Flickr and it's kick@ss dude! Quote

Dino Thanks! There are droid parts in those colors, unfortunately, I don't have them or I would have made R0-B1-N more Robin-esque. Quote

Chills Posted July 19, 2013 Posted July 19, 2013 very creative. I like it a lot. The style reminds me of the Batmobile from the Tim Burton films, which I thought were very well done. Quote
Captain Settle Posted July 19, 2013 Posted July 19, 2013 WOW! Great MOC, it's instantly recognizable as Luke's landspeeder, but with a hilarious twist. Quote
Oky Posted July 20, 2013 Posted July 20, 2013 Excellent, Mood! I'm glad you're continuing this series! This looks very cool and seems very appropriate for the Comic Con weekend. I especially like the big Batman logo on the hood and the extra exhausts in the back! Keep the Bat Wars MOCs coming! Perhaps you could do a Millennium Batwing next? Or Darth Joker's TIE Advanced? Quote
Only Sinner Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 I like these kinds of mash-ups. The idea of Bat's speeder really came across well. The fins and flames especially are like Bat's signature style. I can't wait to see what you come up with next! Quote

Thanks for the blog, Oky! I figured you'd dig this one. I do plan on building more in this theme, probably Darth Joker's BowTIE Advanced, next. Quote
Tariq j Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 Hi, This is an fantastic MOC with brilliant detail, it's also a very creative and good idea to combind to themes together. Good Work! Quote
Csacsa234 Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 Very awesome and funny work man! The front is genius, it combines the landspeeder and the batmobile look. Quote
M<0><0<DSWIM Posted July 23, 2013 Author Posted July 23, 2013 Very awesome and funny work man! The front is genius, it combines the landspeeder and the batmobile look. Thanks! As I've said on other sites, the real challenge of this build was making it both Batman-esque and Star Wars-esque at the same time. I'm pretty sure I've done that (or at least, tried to). very creative. I like it a lot. The style reminds me of the Batmobile from the Tim Burton films, which I thought were very well done. Thanks! Tim Burton's "Bat vehicles" were definitely the biggest influence on the look of this. Quote
