just2good Posted July 19, 2013 Author Posted July 19, 2013 They should've given us a new villain in this set,Killer Croc,Rah's,etc.! I doubt this is the only set we're getting for the January wave, so I'm sure they'll have some of those villains in the sets. Also, on a side note, I doubt this is the only BTB set we're getting in January. Quote
legofreak86 Posted July 19, 2013 Posted July 19, 2013 (edited) They should've given us a new villain in this set,Killer Croc,Rah's,etc.! There is still hope for those two in the rest of the dc 2014 wave which Is looking increasingly likely to be completely batman related! I'm looking forward to seeing what else appears over the next few months.... Edited July 19, 2013 by legofreak86 Quote
Rayskull Posted July 19, 2013 Posted July 19, 2013 I like how the riddler plans to slip the flash a banana, hehe Quote

Most probably, though I hope they don't make a Prof. Pyg or Mr Toad figure While the reveals have been good, it's a real shame we didn't get pictures of the winter minifig lineup. It's understandable with Marvel seeing as Lego would probably release the Guardians of the Galaxy and Captain America WS sets in May, and maybe a few X-Men comic sets to coincide with the DoFP film! Or maybe the next Marvel line is in October and is solely based on Thor: TDW, and some of the sets are to spoilery, but the could have shown of TDW Thor, Loki, maybe Jane Quote
matticus Posted July 19, 2013 Posted July 19, 2013 Just need a Green Lantern minifig to finish off the core Justice League. Perhaps he might be packaged with another Batman set like Flash is. I wouldnt put it past Lego to do a Professor Pyg or Mr. Toad. Never thought I'd see a Nova or Iron Fist. Actually I'm surprised Clayface was never made, being a major villain in the first Batman Lego game. Quote
CM4Sci Posted July 19, 2013 Posted July 19, 2013 So did we see anything today? Box image? Today was DC day, not Hobbit day.. -Sci Quote

Oky Posted July 20, 2013 Posted July 20, 2013 Guess I'm paying $10 a figure cause those cars suck! Really? You'd rather pay for nothing than to get 304 useful Lego parts with your figs just because you don't like the design of the set? I don't get the hate for this set. The Batmobile looks pretty cool to me, perhaps even better than the last one we got. The dragster is kind of ridiculous looking and is obviously just fluff for the set, but at least it has some useful parts. I would have preferred a new villain too, but I'm happy to get a green hat and golden cane/crowbar for Riddler. $30 seems quite fair for a set like this. And why are people expecting boots on the Flash? Batman, Superman, Spider-Man, Nova, all of those characters don't have boots either, so why should Flash? As long as it's not completely necessary like on Wonder Woman, I don't think we can expect boot printing on any Super Heroes minifigs. Quote
TheBatstan Posted July 20, 2013 Posted July 20, 2013 (edited) now seeing the set pic again, the Batmobile doesn't look too shabby. the orange windshield kinda works and looks good when Batman is inside and im really glad they brick-built the wings and didn't use the huge bat fins, those look good but they really exaggerate the look. the Riddler's car-thing, eh. Tobias_Jay Posted July 20, 2013 Posted July 20, 2013 Sorry if this pic has already been shared but I found this on Brickipedia http://images.wikia.com/lego/images/f/fa/Lego-batman-the-riddler-chase1.jpg The Riddler is definitely holding something gold... Quote
Faefrost Posted July 20, 2013 Posted July 20, 2013 Oh yeah the model looks like the statue!!! Awesome. I think it is partially new 52 based as I looked up the costume and it looks similar minus the belt. Yeah perhaps it is their own design this year nice to see a grey and black one though! I was hoping for one of those. Not too sure on gloves though... Hopefully any Joker we see will not be the New 52 one... I just can't see the whole "face stapled on ala Hannibal Lechter" working well as a minifig? I mean the Heath Ledger Joker was a bit much for Lego to do. And the new comic version is way worse than that. Quote
jonwil Posted July 20, 2013 Posted July 20, 2013 Sorry if this pic has already been shared but I found this on Brickipedia http://images.wikia....dler-chase1.jpg The Riddler is definitely holding something gold... Looks like the crowbar element in gold to me. Quote

SoupOrFishOil Posted July 20, 2013 Posted July 20, 2013 I like Riddler's new face and hat, and even though I would prefer a suit, the jacket is a step-up from the spandex. If anything it will work well for a Riddler henchman. Flash and Batman are looking good too. The Batmobile is starting to look better, but it seems way too bulky. Golden crowbar. Quote
just2good Posted July 20, 2013 Author Posted July 20, 2013 (edited) Flash's head is a prototype, right? Riddler looks pretty cool, and the vehicle looks decent... In the flesh. Thanks for posting the pictures here! Edited July 20, 2013 by just2good Quote
CM4Sci Posted July 20, 2013 Posted July 20, 2013 (edited) Maskless Flash bothers me... Also, his helmet looks really big, and what's with the tuft in the back? Thanks for the images! -Sci Edited July 20, 2013 by CM4S Quote
just2good Posted July 20, 2013 Author Posted July 20, 2013 Maskless Flash bothers me... Also, his helmet looks really big, and what's with the tuft in the back? Thanks for the images! -Sci I think the tuft you're talking about is the rough prototype sculpt. I'm sure the official one is much smoother, like in the images! Quote
305Bats Posted July 20, 2013 Posted July 20, 2013 It would be nice if Flash had another face but I doubt it,don't know what to make of Riddler,I like the jumpsuit we already got better than this one,as for Batman,I'll find a spot for him. Quote
Carousel Posted July 20, 2013 Posted July 20, 2013 (edited) Well this clears a few things up! The Riddler's bonus expression is a really great addition, I'm really quite happy with the bowler hat, and the gold crowbar, or Question-mark cane, is commendable in it's utilisation. The letdown is his rag-tag jumpsuit, it looks absolutely filthy - I much prefer the Funhouse costume. They should have had it covered entirely with the jumbled question-marks, instead of the half-and-half with the dark green split. Ideally, like this: The Flash, on the other hand, isn't particularly growing on me. His head is, of course, a prototype, so I dearly hope for an alternate face in the final version. His helmet is way too bulbous and just looks a bit silly. It's not bad though, and it sort of has it's own odd, little charm. I hope that with the final release Lego has bought Flash a pair of yellow boots, because he needs some foot ware. One downer, for picky me, is that it appears that his helmet's little lightning bolts aren't removable. Finally, vintage Bat-logo Batman may be a little bit on the prototype side, as if one looks closely, his utility belt is a little iffy (or maybe they went for a stealthy simple look). The vehicles are not at all terrible, even the Riddler's dragster is growing on me. I like how it has two sacks of cash on the back, nice little detail: Edited July 20, 2013 by Carousel Quote
Churchill Posted July 20, 2013 Posted July 20, 2013 I like this set. I think the wider Batmobile looks good, but I'm not sure about the windshield. I'm also not sold on the dragster. Seems like the Riddler overall needs a little more love from Lego. He seems like an afterthought in these sets. Quote
RaincloudDustbin Posted July 20, 2013 Posted July 20, 2013 Meh... I like Flashs face but not Riddler. Quote
greeny Posted July 20, 2013 Posted July 20, 2013 This set has grown on me quite a lot now. The Batmobile looks a lot nicer in the pictures and the Riddler's dragster is cute. As for the figures, a new Batman suit is always welcome, the Riddler's torso is werid but it can be used for a henchman and the Flash is amazing! Quote
legofreak86 Posted July 20, 2013 Posted July 20, 2013 Now we have proper pics batman looks pretty cool with grey hands, and the belt is definitely accurate as is the symbol. The riddler looks surprisingly good. The question marks printed on the jacket and the whole purple and green feel really looks like something riddler would wear! Love the scarf! The costume in total makes him look like he could've come out of wacky races. Death race to oblivion springs to mind! At least the cane is gold rather than red even if it is still a crowbar. That hat on riddler as well! Flash looks awesome glad to see him finally. The bat mobile looks really cool and the colours really work well! Even the orange cockpit works with the design of the vehicle! Riddler's hot-rod looks not half bad in real life! Lovely to see a grey and black variant of our dear dark knight, even if it is slightly inaccurate to source material. Glad they ditched the circle logo this year the new one just looks much more modern! Very impressed Lego! Come January, this will be in my collection! Quote
