does someone knows when lego will make some kind of sales or discounts on the sets?

i have to buy the London bridge, and the last 4 modulars so i would like to save some money

Lego doesn't price cut the D2C sets anymore. Instead they just offer double VIP points on them when they go on sale.

Hi,

I mostly build Technic and before my dark age, there were no "modular" buildings. How do you define "modular" builds? Advanced architecture with interior? Are these only buildings/houses? Please explain. Thanks.

In a quick description. The Modular or Creator Expert buildings are advanced multi thousand piece full walled building sets that are each designed to occupy one standard baseplate, and snap together to form full city blocks. They range from 2-3 stories and are constructed in a Layer cake style as opposed to a dollhouse style. Where each floor is a layer that nests atop the last. Interiors are well detailed and the external architecture is often breathtaking.

In addition to the "official" Modulars the more modern "Dollhouse" style Haunted House and Ghostbusters Firehouse are similar in overall scale and design and are often displayed with the Modulars.

It may be niche but they could do an Octan Home office building? After all they have to make decisions for the company somewhere. I like these ideas Seb, they seem likely choices.

Possible, but I'd say unlikely. Firstly, office buildings are rarely considered "exciting" or appealing, either for kids OR for the adults who toil in them. Secondly, even with Octan rebranded as "Octan Energy", big oil companies or other megacorporations don't exactly have a stellar reputation—heck, the Octan corporation was made the villains of The Lego Movie itself largely because of the connotations of that sort of big business!

I think if you wanted to try and get that sort of set to succeed, you'd have to combine it with some more popular subject to get it to succeed, at the very least—for instance, perhaps part of the property could be under construction, to allow for more traditionally successful subjects and play scenarios and deemphasize the monotony of office work.

I'd rather have a finished building. If you want a construction site you can buy the Lego City construction sets and not finish building your modular.

Posted

If they sell that construction site, they should offer the pieces tot finish it, so you can chose if you want to keep it as a construction or finished.

i don't think that will get approved, neither the train station, looks boring

Posted

They've approved "boring" sets before - the birds (whilst very nice) are simply a display piece. The Big Bang Theory set is just people sitting on a sofa. The Research Institute was just 3 people standing on small bases.

However, the reason they won't be approved is because they have had modulars in the ideas review before and they have never been approved. They never pick things up that can compete with current lines.

What about an apartment tower/apartment block?

The lobby in the first floor

The second floor could have 2 apartments: One with an elderly woman and 5 cats and the other with a young couple and their baby (the new baby with a pink torso)

2 more apartments in the third floor with... I don't know.... just more people

and maybe a little garden in the rooftop :purrr:

I prefer this rather than the construction site. We need a [whateveryouwant] shop with apartments, and if possible, in 2 blocks like the Pet Shop, or bigger like the Green Grocer! :)

One other idea I've had is a hardware store. Lego has plenty of tools and accessories that would be well-suited to that kind of business. Of course, that's the kind of thing that would probably work best paired with some other subject as well.

I wish it don't get through, there`s been better modular ideas that have been rejected.

I would like a Court, a museum or the hospital. But i really need more houses for my mini figures. looks like i would have to buy another petshop ahahaha

I really hoped that the reason the Ideas museum was not passed in the review because there was one already on the way (like the Helicarrier).

Yeah, we are very short of houses on the Modular block!
