monsinjor Posted July 1, 2013 Posted July 1, 2013 Hello everybody here's one small moc I've done few days ago... It is an old mine with two explorers... Hope you'll like it. Mine from above: Closer view of the guy Picture of girl and some kind of Range Rover :D Side view: That's it. Hope you enjoyed and some advices would be appriciated. Have a nice day folks! Quote
eurotrash Posted July 1, 2013 Posted July 1, 2013 Scrolling through the pictures on my phone I thought I was looking at a Scooby-Doo movie! (must get new glasses) I like it a lot. I think you've done a great job with the vegetation and I particularly like the greenery growing up and around the rocks and the abandoned wheel propped up. Thanks for sharing it with us! Quote
Only Sinner Posted July 1, 2013 Posted July 1, 2013 Love the outdoor photography. The natural light really gives nice definition to all the green foilage pieces. I would warn people to stay out of old mines, however. Many years of neglect and the mine would not have been properly maintained. This could be ripe for a catastrophic cave-in! One also has to be aware of bears, cougars, and aliens who might like to inhabit such a place. Quote
kermit Posted July 1, 2013 Posted July 1, 2013 Very nice moc, but im curious to know what inside the cave looks like. Quote
lightningtiger Posted July 1, 2013 Posted July 1, 2013 Very nice MOC 'monsinjor', though the jeep needs to look a little more like a jeep (headlights are too close together) but apart from that the mine entrance is fantastic and quite realistic....you could of had Indina Jones riding the mine car out of the mouth if the tunnel eh ? Brick On 'monsinjor' ! Quote
Kristel Posted July 1, 2013 Posted July 1, 2013 This looks great. I really like how you have done the entrance to the mine and the foliage. My only suggestion would be to make it look a little more run down. It seems more like a recently abandoned mine than an old mine. Quote
spacefan6901 Posted July 1, 2013 Posted July 1, 2013 "What's that Lassie?" "Timmy & Becky are in the old mine?" "He is SOOOOO grounded!" Quote
jimmynick Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 The grass is a little too regularly spaced for my taste, but the rockwork (including those pre-fab rocks) and the mine entrance, , lovely! Oh, and the palm tree seems out of place. You could replace it with one of the other trees because they work well. Quote
Laura Beinbrech Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 Excellent work there, very convincing abandoned mineshaft, although I have to say that I agree with this: Love the outdoor photography. Exactly! Even professional Cavers (I was heavily into that at one time) tend to steer clear of abandoned mine shafts: The main danger comes from the fact that, being man-made, they are dependent on supports (many of which will have likely rotted away) to keep from collapsing, and even where the supports are sound, unlike natural caves where the rock surfaces were gradually eroded, relieving tectonic pressure, mines were rapidly dug, and this same pressure can cause bits of rock to violently pop off the walls or ceilings (which is one of the main reasons they wear hard hats in mines).... However, fantastic MOC, The foliage makes it look abandoned and I love the rock work and mine entrance, great work Happy building Quote
LEGO Guy Bri Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 Excellent job on this scene you've created! You definitely captured an abandoned look. I also like it's placement in outside for the photo. The real foliage and surrounding dirt and rocks blends well into the LEGO. Great job Quote
Man with a hat Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 Great job. I like it. It is a nice and I especially like how you did the entrance of the mine. Quote
