Darth Doggfather Posted February 28, 2007 Posted February 28, 2007 (edited) Vote for your favorite! I say 360: best graphics, sweet games, awesome online, reasonable price. Edited February 28, 2007 by Hobbes Quote

rexcal Posted February 28, 2007 Posted February 28, 2007 Wii. And I actually was the first voter for Nintendo's new machine... I'm a videogame fan bigtime, anyway, although I don't play very often (not more than once or twice a week, sometimes less). But I just love my Super NES. I also own the other Nintendo home-consoles plus a Sega Mega Drive ("Genesis" in the US) and I voted for Wii here because of Nintendo's first-party games. I just don't see other franchises reaching the perfection of game-series like "Pikmin", "Mario" or "Zelda" - although we'll have a few exciting excusive titles on all 3 new consoles, of course. But as I said before, i care most about retro-gaming, not the new generation. Quote
vahkimetru Posted February 28, 2007 Posted February 28, 2007 I hate video games... Can someone add a "Don't like 'em all" option? Quote
Kikuichimonji Posted February 28, 2007 Posted February 28, 2007 Wii. At least it does something new instead of upgrading the graphics. Quote

dillthepill Posted February 28, 2007 Posted February 28, 2007 Wii. Most interactive gaming system ever that is also the cheapest. Plus, Nintendo has the best licenses to characters(Mario for example Quote
rexcal Posted February 28, 2007 Posted February 28, 2007 By the way: Did you guys know that the SNES is outselling Xbox360 and PS3 as well on Amazon at the moment? Strange but true! :'-) Quote
gylman Posted February 28, 2007 Posted February 28, 2007 None of those have had much of an impact on my life. My Gameboy SP sure did though. Yes I know, this is a vote about consoles. Nothing tops its portability - in the lineup, in the waiting room, in the airport, on the john, in bed....SP ruled, and still does to a large extent. Quote

Gotta agree with that. My GBA, and DS now, get so much more use than my consoles ever will. They're just so convenient. But as far as this poll goes, Wii is the system for me. ;-) Quote
Cyclone Titan Posted March 1, 2007 Posted March 1, 2007 Until I have a Wii, my DS Lite will continue to rule my world. Quote
Darth Doggfather Posted March 1, 2007 Author Posted March 1, 2007 The major problem I see with Ninty's past few home consoles is 3rd party support - other than Nintendo, who the heck makes good games for their home consoles? All the good games are either Nintendo games or ports or multiplatform sports games. Quote
5150 Lego Posted March 2, 2007 Posted March 2, 2007 Ok, i'll probbly get hung for saying this, but i think the Wii is lame. *n* Sorry. Iv'e played it, it just doesn't impress me. There is nothing appealing about this consol. I understand that a big selling point are the controls, but that doesn't make up for medeocor grafics and the game selection (whitch is seriously weak compared to XBOX, and PS3.) The 360 gets my vote. Better selection of games, best grafics, and best game play. Quote

Though i haven't played it in full, its very good. Never cared for Zelda myself. Though i guess your right that the Wii and PS3 probbly have about the same amount of games out. But i still think PS3's selection is better. Quote

Kikuichimonji Posted March 2, 2007 Posted March 2, 2007 The 360 gets my vote. Better selection of games, best grafics, and best game play. I can agree with the first 2 points. It certainly has the best graphics, and probably the best games too since it's been out for a while. Best gameplay however, is something that's always been reserved for Nintendo to me. They constantly reinvent themselves, and with the Wii and DS, they've really outdone themselves. If you want gameplay, Nintendo is the way to go. Quote

If you like role playing, or wierd little animals running around, then i guess nintendeo is for you. But what about everyone else? What about sports, racing, and first person shooters? I'll admit that the Wii is getting a few, but this is somthing nintendeo in the past (and really still do) have nearly nothing. If nintendeo what offer a more brod range of games to the consumer, then the'd do alot better. Quote

If nintendeo what offer a more brod range of games to the consumer, then the'd do alot better. Nearly all the same? Excuse me? Nintendo has tons of franchises, and although some of them share similar traits, they are most certainly not all the same. You can't say 'Zelda is just like Mario except you use a sword to kill enemies' or similar stuff. Sport games are rare on Nintendo consoles, I have to agree. But that's what I have my PS2 for. Not like I play much sports games anyway. For racing, there's F-Zero (and Mario Kart, although it's more luck then skill). And trust me, F-Zerp is Hard. And that capital H is there for a reason. FPS aren't made by Nintendo themselves, which is understadable if you know their policy about violence. However, the Cube had Timesplitters: Future Perfect, which is the only shooter you need. And did everybody forget about Goldeneye and Perfect Dark? Halo wouldn't be here if it weren't for those games! It may seem really harsh, but what it comes down to is your game preferences. Yours are -obviously- better suited for the Xbox360. Which does not mean that they have better gameplay. Heck, if there's 3 genres that all have the same gameplay, it's the ones you mentioned. Quote
rexcal Posted March 2, 2007 Posted March 2, 2007 If you like role playing, or wierd little animals running around, then i guess nintendeo is for you. But what about everyone else? Haha! That's funny - but, come oooon, you can't be serious. :-P Nintendo's games always offered a very deep and perfectly designed experience concerning gameplay (which is a term hard to define, I think). But some would not see that because Nintendo tends to package that in very comic and, yes, child-suitable graphics, which does not mean that they're not beautiful. Hell, they are beautiful, when you ask me. So, the company's image sometimes is thought of as "childish", partly because of Pokemon. But Mario and other franchises were designed for all age groups, anyway. In Japan the age barrier never has been a problem from the beginning... But the company actively started aiming at an older audience a few years ago already, which you can see in the "Metroid prime" or new "Zelda" games for example. Or, on another level, with all the language- and braintraining software on DS. They'll surely come up with similar stuff for the Wii very soon. Quote
