lightningtiger Posted June 25, 2013 Posted June 25, 2013 Since I designed the multi-storey building to go with Town Square I thought the bike shop needed something since I shifted the position of the bike shop. Note on the ground floor the tyre rack to fill the new blank wall section.....plus the removable upper side wall. Comments very welcome......now back to designing for the tiger. Quote
Ham17 Posted June 25, 2013 Posted June 25, 2013 (edited) Where are the pictures...... EDIT: Doesn't matter Edited June 25, 2013 by Ham17 Quote
lightningtiger Posted June 25, 2013 Author Posted June 25, 2013 Where are the pictures...... They are there......they come up on this page on my computer. Quote
lightningtiger Posted June 25, 2013 Author Posted June 25, 2013 I like the removable wall technique. Thanks 'kermit' I only thought of this idea earlier this afternoon......I still have the other side to fix up yet......keep watching ! Quote
timmyc1983 Posted June 25, 2013 Posted June 25, 2013 Very cool, but I am surprised you have made it closed in, I thought you were open back all the way....? It's looks great tho Happy building Quote
lightningtiger Posted June 25, 2013 Author Posted June 25, 2013 Thanks 'timmy', ah....but I'm still an open back designer.....though I have issues with building designs that is open on the back but facing you. So I have a fusion of modular, open back and basic doll house design ideas. Quote
lightningtiger Posted June 25, 2013 Author Posted June 25, 2013 A nice little mod on the bike shop LT. Thanks 'michael', I actually haven't modified the bike shop.....that's still the same as per the instructions, so the 6x16 plate has the add-on parts instead. Keep watching for the second part of the add-on. Quote
lightningtiger Posted July 25, 2013 Author Posted July 25, 2013 (edited) Now you might have been wondering about part two of this bike shop add-on......well once I have the side wall, staircase and workshop completed with a very special surprise......and the tiger is hoping that it might be a Lego first.......any guesses ? Updating with pictures will hopefully be tomorrow......so keep watching ! Edited July 25, 2013 by lightningtiger Quote
Bricktrain Posted July 25, 2013 Posted July 25, 2013 Looks good, I have put mine on a 32x32 baseplate and added ten studs to each side, which leaves 6 studs more room on the frontage for displaying bikes outside. I havent yet done the stairs as I am waiting on BL orders for the floor tiles. I am thinking I need a lift as well rather than riding the bikes up the stairs. Quote
lightningtiger Posted July 26, 2013 Author Posted July 26, 2013 Well, yours sound very interesting indeed.......now I have been busy this morning....... Even more to come......I still must fix the roller door pavement, plus add workshop benches and equipment......not to forget the roof too. Keep watching ! Quote
Xyver Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 Love the roller door LT, that is a piece of brilliance. Quote
timmyc1983 Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 Looks good and nice roller door! How many times have you rolled it up and down since finishing it....? I look forward to more, happy building Quote

I look forward to more, happy building Thanks 'timmy', and yes quite a few times the door has travelled up and down......well it must work correctly without jamming and it does ! Hopefully more in the next few days......keep watching ! Edit - Oops, sorry 'Xyver' for missing your comment, thank you for your kind words. Edited July 26, 2013 by lightningtiger Quote
lightningtiger Posted July 26, 2013 Author Posted July 26, 2013 Some changes made already......but parts.....well, I need to hunt down to finish it....keep watching ! Quote
paul_delahaye Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 A great roller door solution, something I've always thought about with the Lego horizontal beams is that it limits the maximum height of the roller door, this is a great alternative Quote
lightningtiger Posted July 26, 2013 Author Posted July 26, 2013 Thanks 'Paul' for your kind words, yes I thought last week is there a better way to have a real looking roller door and the pins on the roller door elements fit those little blue half pins perfectly. The reason behind two sets of blue pins ? ..............the first set of course holds the element pins and the second set act as a guide for the door to start rolling around correctly. I still have quite a bit to do to this add-on structure.....so keep watching ! Quote
LEGO Guy Bri Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 Nice add on lt. I really like the roll-up door. I think the checkered flag exterior would look better if it didn't have the 2x4 black and white stripes in the center of the pattern. Kind of throws off the look Quote

Kind of throws off the look Thanks for the feedback 'LEGO Guy Bri', actually a sticker will be going into the position of those 2x4 tiles........now more work was done today....... More still to come......so yes, again.....keep watching ! Quote
timmyc1983 Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 Ahhhh, very good, I like it. And you've kept your favourite open backs on two sides!!! Very good! but it really wanna push that plate down I look forward to more, happy building Quote
lightningtiger Posted July 27, 2013 Author Posted July 27, 2013 Thanks 'timmy' and yeah, I know there are some gaps in the plate work...... ..... Still a few things to be done on this.....then the next project can at least hit the drawing board......keep watching ! Quote
LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 The roller door is a great original idea LT ...but the biker is the best! Quote
monsinjor Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 Hey Tiger, another great build from you. As mentioned above, the roller doors are brilliant. You're the man! Quote
