SmoothJazz Posted June 22, 2013 Posted June 22, 2013 (edited) My entry for the Digital Hero contest. LXF Edited July 7, 2013 by SmoothJazz Quote
Chro Posted June 22, 2013 Posted June 22, 2013 That's awesome. Certainly the most complex entry I've seen so far. One thing I'm unsure of- what color is that? Bronze? "Dark flesh"? Quote

Dorek Posted June 22, 2013 Posted June 22, 2013 Very interesting to see a more technic-based Hero MoC, especially in LDD. The individual parts are all very intricate, but overall it's not super cohesive; the system bits especially stick out a lot from what would otherwise be fairly good flow. The arms and chest are also set too far apart from one other, giving it a hunchback appearance. The designs feel like they would be better parsed out and used in other creations, rather than amalgamating into this one. The colors are great, and the individual designs are very cool, but aside from the fact that there's a Hero Core, it's not a design that screams "Hero". Keeping it simple with the blade is appreciated, though. Quote
DraikNova Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 Absolutely beautiful MOC; however, I have to agree with Dorek that it doesn't really look HF at all. Quote
davidr Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 You built this in LDD? Wow. Good job. Looks really nice. But I have to agree with Dorek and DraikNova, it looks more like Toa than a hero. (Huh, anyone noticed that Toa means hero in matoran language? :-P ) Quote
Chro Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 I suppose the thing here is that HF lends itself more to simpler aesthetics. That doesn't always mean that it looks better without custom Technic designs, just that (for example) the smooth appearance of regular HF armor suits it very well, but the complex look of Technic-constructed limbs might not seem as good on its own... the challenge is finding a balance there, I think. SmoothJazz Posted July 7, 2013 Author Posted July 7, 2013 Made some changes to the model. I changed the lower arms to regular HF limbs, and added more copper parts to the color scheme. Quote
