Legofin2012 Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 Really like the set just can't afford it, so I built one, plus includes a full interior unlike the original. Also took away the things I didn't like on the original: no interior, only 1 floor, 1 8X8 as grass, black tree, so changed all of them things. Legofin2012 Posted June 20, 2013 Author Posted June 20, 2013 Thank you, they need a way to get to the top don't they. Quote
Corydoras Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 Nice job remaking a classic. I'd add more foliage and replace the grey drawbridge with a brown (wooden) one. Quote
Legofin2012 Posted June 20, 2013 Author Posted June 20, 2013 Thanks, don't have any more foliage, and a wooden bridge sound good, but I've destroyed this now so can't change it now. Built this a while ago, just never got round to posting it. Quote
TheLegoDr Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 Looks good. Very fitting for the original, but with some updated features/colors. I loved the original set as a kid, so I couldn't think about changing it. Even though I'd never use black trees for everyday forest life with my MOCs now, there is something about the black trees that I wouldn't want to change that on the original. Odd, I know. Keep up the good work. You should recreate other classic castle sets for fun. Ever since I saw that contest for it, I've been wanting to do it. I just never have got around to it. Quote
Legofin2012 Posted June 21, 2013 Author Posted June 21, 2013 Thanks to both, might recreate a few more, lots of classic castle sets to choose from! Quote
Lordofdragonss Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 Very nice remake man! But the trees look like they need more leaves, are you going to make more Forestmen stuff? :D Quote
Wat Tambor Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 That's a great idea to redesign some old 1980's sets. I always wanted to do it myself - rebuilding the Black Falcon Castle or one of those Knights Kingdom castles, cause of the baseplate. Looking forward to see some more remakes soon. Quote
Legofin2012 Posted June 22, 2013 Author Posted June 22, 2013 Thank you, definitely going to build more remakes, love the feel to them, so probably another Forestmen one! Quote
soccerkid6 Posted June 22, 2013 Posted June 22, 2013 Excellent redo, the interior is a great addition The trees seem a bit too regular though, some more branches/leaves would make them look more realistic in my opinion. Keep on building Quote
Legofin2012 Posted June 22, 2013 Author Posted June 22, 2013 Thanks, I need to buy more leafs!! Quote
Only Sinner Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 I really wanted this set when I was a kid. Now I want yours. Dammit! Thanks alot, LF. The new design looks like a HUGE improvment, and I like the colors you used. Quote
Legofin2012 Posted June 23, 2013 Author Posted June 23, 2013 Ha ha, thanks, you could always try building your own? Quote
Itaria No Shintaku Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 This is very very nice... I hope they release again Forestmen somehow in the future. Why not hoping? Quote
Legofin2012 Posted June 24, 2013 Author Posted June 24, 2013 Thanks, no reason why not, you never know... Quote
