hewkii9 Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 Simply put, this ship is that of the Black Numenorean prince of Umbar Ar-Karandal. The dark red stripes on his uniform denote royal blood, and his speckled, partially rusted armour tells the tale of his naval experience raiding the coasts of South Gondor. He carries onboard with him an experienced balista worker [wearing the customary grey leggings of his uniform] and his slightly alcoholic nephew, who wears burnished black armour [clearly he's new] and works the tiller. Picture The ship, with left to right, the tiller, the balista worker, and Ar-Karandal. Picture A view from the other side, showing the more traditional siding of ships. Picture The sail, all furled and tied up. Picture The front, with a Fell Beast figurehead and raised forecastle[proper term?]. This was in case a raid failed and a ship sunk. Any remaining members of the crew could ascend to the top and from there call for help from other ships. Picture The rear, with the traditional Umbar sculpture of a pelican. As the saying went, 'When the last thing you see is the Black Pelican, you're in the hands of the Valar now.' Picture The plank. Used for execution of any worthless captives, as well as sidling up to merchant ships and boarding via it. When raised, serves as a shield for raiders to hide behind. Picture A rear view of a balista. These giant crossbows could shoot a distance of almost a knot in fair winds, and, in one memorable rain upon Cerin Amroth, impaled three men together. Picture These balistae also had almost full mobility in movement. Picture A barrel containing extra spears for the balista, along with a bottle of wine. Picture Ar-Karandal and his crew. Quote
Norro Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 I don't normally complain about pics, but smaller ones in this case would really help get an overall picture of the MOC... God Bless, Nathan Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted February 26, 2007 Governor Posted February 26, 2007 This is about as close as you're going to get at the moment, Mr Norro: A question for Mr Hewkii9 - what kind of hull is this ship using? Quote
Asuka Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 Very nice, especially the front section and that plank. *y* Quote

It's the same hull design as in Rogue Knight's Battleship. So two sort of fin parts connected with the black modified bricks. Quote
