weavil Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 I'm not new to LDD or Friends (or legos in general), but got some new person/stupid questions. 1. How can I get, find, or create the Lego Friends pets/animals? 2.How can I add some of the Friends sets to the "Official LEGO Sets made in LDD" even with the pets or stickers missing? My daughter loves the Lego Friends and LDD. So she wants them on LDD, so now I got some done and no pets or stickers. I also figured I could add them to LDD index. I'm also working on building a compete Heartlake City in LDD with all the sets and adding to it as more come out. Quote
Calabar Posted June 19, 2013 Posted June 19, 2013 Hi and welcome to the digital section. I don't know if pets and dolls figure are available in LDD (take a look at this topic), but I'm pretty sure there are a tenth of Friends sets in the Official Sets in LDD topic. You should be able to easily find them looking at the index. Quote

Unfortunately a lot of bricks special to Lego Friends are not (yet) in LDD, even in the latest version of it. Especially the minidolls are completely absent and obviously most of the Friends pets, too. Other accessories are indeed included, but hard to find: Take for example the "Friends Accessories Hair Dryer", Bricklink part "93080c": It is actually in LDD (only in Extended mode), but using the number "96484" and the name "M6". Another example is the LDD part "94724" with the name "M8", which Bricklink knows as part "92355b" "Friends Accessories Spray Bottle with Heart". Several other Friends parts use similar M-names and numbers totally differing from those on Bricklink, so you'll probably find them only by chance. Even if you find the correct pieces, LDD currently almost totally ignores any sort of stickers. And as Friends sets heavily rely on stickers, it currently is a pain in the buttocks no fun building Friends sets in LDD, as they tend to be rather incomplete. That might be the reason that there are so little in the thread "Official LEGO Sets made in LDD". You may however file a request in this thread for additional Friends parts (including minidolls) and in this thread for sticker support. There is no gurantee if and when these requests will be added to LDD, but taking the experience from the last years into consideration, there might be an update this fall which might add some new parts. weavil Posted June 21, 2013 Author Posted June 21, 2013 Thanks Calabar and pbat. I also noticed a couple of days ago that in Extended Mode it has double of some pieces, no name or noticable differance, or old style/design and new style/design. Like the 1x2 brick it has with and without pins on the bottom. why would they do that? Quote
Calabar Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 Maybe the duplicates are due to material differences. For example the 1x2 brick has two different molds for standard and transparent version. I don't know if in LDD this can make the difference, but this difference could be used, for example, in hight quality rendering. Wait for another opinion anyway, I'm not sure that all I remember is correct! Quote
