I agree with Pepp. BL most often, but I do pick up a lot of used sets and bulk parts on eBay as well. It is more hit or miss on eBay never knowing what will be offered or how it will be listed or what condition it really will be in.

i usually use some online lego stores on facebook. i rarely buying pieces, only sets mostly. i can get the MISB sets with fairly decent price compared to retail.

I usually use ebay. I've never used bricklink before. This is because I'm concerned on pricing. For example, what if I want to buy pieces from a seller, and another from a different seller? Wouldn't I have to pay twice the shipping? And I need a lot of different kinds of bricks, so shipping would be insane, correct?

Well yes, but the same happens if you want to buy from several eBay sellers too. Bricklink isn't really a single store, as such, but more an overall marketplace that brings all the stores together, in much the same way eBay is.

Yes, but I never really see individual bricks on ebay. Usually its a whole lot, which I'm fine for paying shipping for. But if you just want a select few, don't you have to pay a few cents for the pieces, and then the shipping would be outrageous. Right?

Shipping usually just depends on the seller. Sellers also can have minimum buys which kind of justify the shipping costs. I don't usually encounter outrageous shipping, as there are many stores that would have the same part for less.

I use(d) Ebay successfully. Once you have become regular and good customer of

some power seller, you may ask him or her to put some very special items back for

you until it is enough to justify shipping.

If you are building specific builds... then Bricklink is the perfect forum to buy on. If shipping costs are a big concern then keep your overseas buying to a minimum. Also if you only buy say 100 grams of parts... then shipping won't break the bank. I think that for MOC buildings... Bricklink is the best place to buy. You cannot get the specific parts on Ebay that you can on Bricklink.

Also Bricklink sellers are much more savy than Ebay sellers... about the knowledge of the LEGO parts, conditions, variations, etc. Bricklink sellers know better than to try offing you some chewed up parts.... or at least they better.

New: LEGO.com, especially when double points or free shipping is advertised.

Used/ discount New sets: ebay, used less and less these days compared to previous years. Still look for cheaper, retail, new, sets or old sets for RRP or less.

Parts: Brick Link, don't ever want to clean and sort another bulk lot!
