OoC: I was waiting for Hybros to move to the courtyard before posting an action.

Nyx narrows her eyes at Watters. "You're seriously annoying. You only answered about half of my questions and even then it was because I had to ask over and over again. And now you're getting annoyed with me because you want to check a dead body or serve some wine in such a hurry? I don't think so."

Nyx steps back, seeing that Watters is hastened and that she was very clearly about to die, yet agaaaaain, but hoping that also, yet again, she might be brought back again and that her Darkness spell, cast through her Standard, would at least weaken him.

Guts finds U'Or at the edge of the room. It is clear that the poor U'Kin does not particularly like parties, though his eyes drift from time to time to Madame Ladybug.

OoC: Time wise it just didn't make sense for him to travel that far. Sorry.

Watters drops a understandably pissed off Nyx, but as he wheels to the door he sees Hybros and Avery stepping out onto the courtyard. Avery raises an eyebrow and a faint smile plays across her lips. Bemused would be the term to describe it best.

Guts walks up to U'Or, not messing around, intimidating: "Listen up. So far, three out of the four people you hired for this party have turned out to be out to kill people. That means one of two things to me, you are terrible at hiring, or you're trying to get people killed. What have you to gain when Guffington dies, his money? Want to run away with that one?" Guts nods his head at Madame Ladybug. "Talk." The raider also checks the room for Felix' position and to see if Daneeka has returned yet.

Guts had taken a mead, smelling salts, ambrosia and nostrum before the jump, I think he should still have the effects, right?

Hybros sighs at the sight of Nyx, unconscious again. "We will have to get you some armor when we get back to the Hall... heh." He turned to Watters. "Listen, I have had one too many encounters with those who claim to be assassins. If you were really hired to kill Chef Clippard, then I am afraid you are too late. This Red Assassin on the other hand..." Hybros felt for his certificate in his pocket, but resisted to use it just yet. "Has been paid a large sum of gold for your own assassination, heheheh. Now, Avery, I believe the oath of the Red Assassins guild states you must kill your target and any witnesses. I hope I do not have to spell this out for you Watters, but that means that 8she will not stop until we are all dead. If you value your life, we can put aside our differences and defeat her together. Join us or perish."

Hybros quickly poured a Phoenix Essence down Nyx's throat, then tossed a Neutralizer.

OoC: Found it, yes, you have those effects. Sorry, it had been a while.

A similar paleness descends on U'Ors as did Madame Ladybug. His throat appears to be closing up. "To... to.. kill... Master Guffington?! Who? Who would do such a thing? Those I hired come from the hovels. Guffington is helping them. Three of them!? Gods be... gods be..." U'Or wobbles for a few seconds, and then, slightly shockingly, topples over in a dead faint.

"You Heroicans are fools. I wanted to see that my man was dead, that bitch wouldn't let me. Then you bring another bitch here to kill me. Ain't happening, bucko."

"I haven't fought anyone," says Avery loosely. "I'm personally not overly fond of killing those I don't have to. I haven't drawn a knife yet. Step inside and let me deal with the blue man. Though we'll have to have a word about you trying to have me killed. It doesn't paint you in a very pretty light, imp. Maybe I won't spare you, but that poor lady bleeding out surely shouldn't suffer for your ineptitude."

The raider puts a hand to his head. He then calls out the Faun. "You. Mr. U'or is not a very good drinker, could you see him to his room and care for him, I'm sure your colleagues will be back in any moment, to pick up the serving, appreciate it." Guts then checks again where lady felix and Daneeka are, if they are in the room at all. He then walks up to shawe, and raises an inquisitive eyebrow.

I, too, look around to see where Lady Felix is.

Thomas clomps on over and helps U'Or to stand, but the U'Kin still seems in a shocked stupor. The duo makes their way to the door, where both Docken and Guts spy Lady Felix. She looks at Guts with a questioning eye, but quietly and efficiently unlocks the door, allowing the faun and U'Or out, and Daneeka back in. The door is then locked again. Guts makes his way over to Shawe.

"Well hello there, my tricky little friend. You must have a great love for the people of Eubric, what to so kindly allow them access to greater bombs. Madame Ladybug didn't give me a strong yes, but she gave me an even weaker no. Here, as a token of my gratitude, and the gratitude of House Shadeaux too." Shawe hands Guts 150 gold, and Guts feels that the family will look more kindly on him in the future. "I don't think I ever caught your name, friend."

"Do not play the fool. I am very aware of your targets. Fortunately for you, none of them happen to be those that we are concerned with. I will gladly allow you to complete your contract, although I am not quite done with Red Assassins just yet. You see, I have a particular interest in the art of death, and I think that cloak and membership to your guild would benefit me greatly, hehehe." Hybros showed Avery the Certificate of the Red Assassin and stowed away his Neutralizer and Phoenix Essence. "This is not the way I wanted it to happen, but I do what I must." Once Avery had given her cloak, Hybros fled back inside, knocking on the door for Felix to open it, if she had locked it. "I will be back for you Nyx" he said to her unconscious form.

Nyx's unconscious form can hear snatches of the conversation mixed in with the otherworldly sensations. Part of her, possibly her fire, wishes it could scream at Avery "He called us both bitches! Skewer his big behind to the damn wall!!", but it unfortunately goes unheard.

OoC: Pandora, you'll be back in the game tomorrow! Just letting the other have a move or two while the Assassins brawl it out in the courtyard, sure you understand.

"Your decoy book," says Daneeka in his normal curt manner, depositing a book in Guts' hands. Lady Felix unlocks the door at the same time, and Hybros comes bustling in.

The raider grabs the book, and heads to Lord Marsh. "It is my understanding you are after a certain book. How much would you pay me for it?"

[Zepher]

Lord Marsh stares harshly at the book for a mere second before smiling genuinely and taking it.

"I guess my wife has quite a big mouth on her, doesn't she. I was indeed looking for such a book, thank you," he flips through it casually, staring at runes that neither he nor Guts can understand. "Thank you very much. I'll have to go talk to my wife, if you'll excuse me." Lord Marsh steps away from Guts and bustles over to his wife. They begin to talk in hushed tones.

Guts doesn't let go of the book. "As I said. Payment. I'm sure Hewayrt is paying you a good deal for it. Half. Now."

[Zepher]

Lord Marsh glances with intrigue at Guts for a moment, as if just realizing a man is attached to the book.

"I don't recall speaking to you before this, and I am as sure that I didn't mention Heweyrt to anyone as I am that I didn't mention that book to my wife." Lord Marsh takes a step back. "Perhaps you can explain what is happening here."

"I was on the ship. I overheard. Now, are you going to pay or am I going to have to put this away?"

[Zepher]

"That seems unlikely..." Lord Marsh eyes the book greedily, then shakes his head. "This Heweyrt seemed like a man who may employ more than one agent... but I can't see the function when I am already here. You are not being honest with me, and I do not deal with the dishonest. If you tell me truthfully how you learned of my interest in the book, I will happily give you some gold for it. 300 gold, to be exact."

Out in the courtyard, Nyx awakes to the sounds of crackling paper. Avery stands over her, face bloodied only slightly, a open slice wound in her arm... but otherwise unharmed. A contract, most likely Watters, is cinders in her hand in seconds. She helps Nyx to her feet.

"He put me through my paces, I'll give him that. Bloody Blue Assassins. There's a reason I don't kill those I wasn't hired to kill, unless the need arises. Too messy, too dangerous. It's a shame he got to you. I assume you aren't queasy around blood? You can see if he was carrying any loot, the Red Assassins take only the gold of the contractor. Less we carry, the harder it is to find us. We don't encourage trophies as you heroes do." Nyx glances over at Watters. He is laying in a puddle of blood... but finding a cut on him is hard. His throat must have been slit - efficiently and almost secretly.

Hybros listened intently to any quarrel outside, then looked for Docken. "So, Marsh is next." He spotted Guts speaking to him. "Best to stay back for now I think, hehe... Do not want a repeat of last time."

Guts intimidated Marsh, a little bit. "I guess we are both liars then, aren't we, Marsh? Now, the gold."

[Zepher]

"You are not a very good business man," says Marsh cooly, and he walks away.

Guts says slowly, before Marsh goes out of reach. "Stay still. You wouldn't want anyone to know what you are doing to your wife, would you?"

[Zepher]

Marsh glances back with fretful eyes.

"Perhaps there is a place we can talk quietly, where you can explain all this to me. I am not being unreasonable, I think. I'm sure you understand why I have some questions," he says with a composed voice, but his words are too shallow, too controlled - clearly he is unhappy and a little bit afraid.
