Its very good

however I'm slightly bothered by the doors; they are only held on through the window glass pieces, which looks weak.

I supose you could replace their windows with clear 2*1 bricks, like on the front window, which would make them smaller, but also allow more support...

Yes this is very good. I know the real ones in Iraq are having problems with IEDs as some don't have enough armour. Is this one based on the one with or without the extra armour do you know? I'm not sure if the extra armour is just thicker walls or if it makes the vehicle look a bit different.

Thank you all for the responses! Normally I build spaceships, so building a real world machine was a different sort of challange for me.

@Lego2000-

Good to see a few familiar faces around here!

@xenologer-

I had to make alot of sacrifices to get this anywhere near minifig scale, but I wanted opening doors. The doors are actually strong enough as they are, they just look a little odd. There are other places in the model that are much flimsier, believe me!

@Calvin-

I'm no expert on military weaponry, so I don't know which version of the Humvee this is, but here is a link to my reference picture.

I may still tinker with this for a bit, but I'll be sure to post more new creations here when I have them.

Wow- Nice design, not a fan of the humvee myself, but you have done a great job on this. BTW, just a quick question on the MOC, how do you get the doors to open, what brick did you use? I have been trying to master that for a long time now, but i can't. :-(

Thanks in advance.

Likewise to Boney's boobs, I thought this warranted revival. Especially with the recent EN movement and military interest on the boards. This is a beautiful build. I don't know what happened to this user but I'd like to see what else he's built! *sweet*

This has gotta be one of the best military MOCs I've seen out there! I'm totally amazed by the overall look of it. I hope you'll post more of your MOCs here. :'-)

Very cool Humvee with some interesting techniques. *wub* It's a shame this guy hasn't been back since. Was it something someone said? :'-(

He has some cool things in his Brickshelf folder... like this. *sweet*

Thanks for reviving this - I love this vehicle, right now I'm wondering if I can get the plans from him so I can build it in green. :-)

Sad to say, the available pictures are not enough. I spent a while looking at it and I am still unsure how it all works. It needs a level photo of the side for one.

He has instructions for a Humvee, very much like this one, here.

Indeed he does... :-$ That's pretty odd though as that was in his "military" folder and other Humvee was in "space". Thanks! His Osprey is pretty good too! *wub*

Yes, the osprey is extremely cool. Especially the cockpit design is nice *wub*

Wow! I'm glad to see that this old topic still has some miles left! Thanks Hinckley for reviving it, and me from obscurity. As for Eurobricks, no one scared me off, but I am active on several other boards, as well as flickr, and there are only so many hours in the day to bumble around on the internet. If you are on flickr, add me, and I'll return the favor! If there is interest, I certainly could post more of my creations here, but several have been linked to in this thread.

When I built this Humvee, there was quite a bit of interest on MOCpages, including multiple requests for instructions, but I didn't have the time or inclination to make them at the time. When I redesigned it, I made instructions, as you already discovered. As to why the old version is in my space folder on brickshelf, I didn't have a military folder at the time, and if I move it, the result would be many broken links!

I'll have to poke around here more often!

Also, if anyone ends up building a version of this from my instructions, I'd love to see it, so please PM me with a link!
