Favourite SW opening scene?

A New Hope. Simply because it's the Star Wars opening, a pure classic. There my be "nostalgia" in that statement but that scene has been used, copied, mocked, spoofed, whatever so many times, it's a cult scene the newer openings will never become.

I'm chosing for the RotS-opening, off course the all start in the space with the stars and all, and end up at some planet, but in RotS you have that actuall war thing going on...really cool *y*

I think you have to go on first impressions and nothing will ever beat that star destroyer scrolling over-head in the opening scene on ANH! :'-) It is trully one of the great moment in cinematic history.

I'll just add that i also love the ROTS opening too!! *wub* Also worthy of note is th ESB opening, one of the best uses of surround sound ever, as the probe driods launch from the star destroyer.

I voted A New Hope, for very similar reasons as Hobbes.

I also love the Revenge of the Sith opening... probably one of my favorite scenes I've seen in theaters.

ANH...it's pretty much THE opening of a Star Wars movie. When someone mentions a star wars movie opening, what do you think of? An endless star destroyer scrolling overhead, of course!

It had my vote. I don't think any other opening would ever have that same feeling of wonder

for me i could not decide from AOTC,ROTS, and ANH bit in the ened i choss attack of the clones for the surprise of the ship blowing up *sweet* .

The atmosphere is fantastic and I just love the fear in the eyes of those Rebels before we see the Stormies blast their way in !!

That scene has everything and is a perfect character introduction !!

ANH just cant be beat, i liked ROTS's opening but ANH was something special at a time when sci fi was really poor.

The tension involved in the first 5 mins alone is unbelievable........... :-)
