Ray Harryhausen, creator of classic movie special effects including the cyclops in the Seventh Voyage of Sinbad, the medusa in the original Clash of the Titans and the skeletons in the original Jason and the Argonauts has died in London at the age of 92.

You might not think that Harryhausen has anything to do with LEGO, but I'm guessing that Harryhausen's concepts inspired the S10 Medusa and influenced the S9 Cyclops.

I will be giving my Medusa a bow and quiver in tribute to Harryhausen.

This is sad news. He was the creator of some of the best special effects ever, in my opinion. The hero of stop-motion. A great man, and an inspiration to many. R.I.P.

I'm very saddened to hear this. As a child of the 70's I watched many of his movies on late night TV, awe struck by his wonderful creations. The Beast From 20,000 Fathoms is to this day still one of my favorite dinosaur movies.

Tonight I will celebrate Harryhausen's life with a screening of Clash of the Titans, his final film.

We truly lost a great one- Thank you, Sir, for all of the great movie magic!
