lightningtiger Posted April 14, 2013 Posted April 14, 2013 G'day everyone....for the last two days madness has the order of the day......children of all ages has enjoyed the show and my display.....as I write this my Lego City vehicles display is being trashed but that's the fun of it.....kids being kids.....I love see them happy. Now finally New Mannum in all it's glory....... Wow, I should have written picture heavy......anyway best get back to the show now as I still have 4 hours left and there are still plenty of children looking and playing......Brick On ! Quote
timmyc1983 Posted April 14, 2013 Posted April 14, 2013 Looks great all layed out together, and with the train too! Worth all the hard work? I can't decide which my fav building... The target or the PO I think... Quote
eurotrash Posted April 14, 2013 Posted April 14, 2013 Looks great all layed out together I agree! Well done LT and I'm sure the crowds loved your hard work. Quote
Vincent Kessels Posted April 14, 2013 Posted April 14, 2013 That looks great! And I must say that the road makes a big difference. Quote
Bregir Posted April 14, 2013 Posted April 14, 2013 Thank you for showing us your creation in its full glory! :) Great builds and great combination! Brick on Quote
Aussie BJ Posted April 14, 2013 Posted April 14, 2013 Looks great all setup LT. I bet you've inspired plenty kids and adults this weekend. It must of been a lot of work but all worth it by the sounds of it. Well done! Quote
amzy Posted April 14, 2013 Posted April 14, 2013 It looked great today! I was surprised when I got to the show and found your town there. It was pretty cool seeing it in real life after seeing it online. Quote
lightningtiger Posted April 14, 2013 Author Posted April 14, 2013 Thanks everyone for your wonderful comments, now some news I will be returning to Railshow in 2015 plus I might be attending the mid-year train show in 2014.....must talk to the N-gauge guys about that. Oh, yeah I have decided that New Mannum is to keep growing by at least another 96 studs over the next year.....a rest first....well sort of, there's a collectable minifig contest still to go for here on EB.....the tiger may never rest. I should also report back that only 7 sets have missing parts - out of over 20-odd plus New Mannum it's self just a little transit damage.....a bit of T.L.C. and it will be back in display shape. Seeing happy children really made my weekend, though a downside even though for only 5 minutes was when my red 500 class engine slammed to the floor.....but within ten minutes it was running again...whew ! Brick On everyone.....and oh, yeah keep watching (I'm not finished yet ). Quote
L@go Posted April 14, 2013 Posted April 14, 2013 It's a lovely display you have there - so realistic with a town built along the one stretch of road and a railway line. And while I've never been to Australia and can't relate that well to the type of architecture, there is so much to like, especially your general building style and all the details. The work you've done with the stickers is also very nice and adds realism to the diorama. Well done! Quote
lightningtiger Posted April 15, 2013 Author Posted April 15, 2013 Thanks 'Wedge09' and 'L@go' for your kind words, I'm starting plans for the expansion of my town.......a new butchers shop is first with a delivery truck......I shall start next week on that. Keep watching ! Quote
scottwb2010 Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 Great to see your labour of love set up all together. Well done LT. Quote
LEGO Guy Bri Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 It's great to see it all together, it's getting quite long! Too bad it suffered a little damage, but that's part of the experience, right? Quote
Xyver Posted April 18, 2013 Posted April 18, 2013 Well done LT, it's great to see it all laid out in full. You truly do some inspiring work. Quote
lightningtiger Posted April 18, 2013 Author Posted April 18, 2013 Thanks everyone again for your comments and kind words, I will be starting on the extensions next week like I wrote earlier so this isn't the last you have heard from New Mannum ! Quote
Zed_43 Posted April 18, 2013 Posted April 18, 2013 Your street looks great with the train lane and this bit of grass!!! And your servo looks much nicer in this layout! Quote
lightningtiger Posted April 18, 2013 Author Posted April 18, 2013 Thanks 'Zed_43'.....you can now see why I designed my servo the way I did to serve two purposes.....contest and layout. Quote
ER0L Posted April 18, 2013 Posted April 18, 2013 Great layout LT! I especially love the small Art Deco style buildings, and the servo fits in very well, too. Must have been a lot of fun to have this on display. Keep it up! Quote
lightningtiger Posted April 19, 2013 Author Posted April 19, 2013 Thanks 'ER0L', yes I had lots of fun entertaining tons of young kids ....letting them start and stop the train. Also the scrap bins so they could go nuts creating interesting vehicles or what ever....an odd space shuttle come turbo prop plane and a great looking heavy tow truck....nothing also beats a child's imagination. Danpb Posted April 19, 2013 Posted April 19, 2013 Awesome to see it all setup and on display - great work! :D Quote
lightningtiger Posted April 19, 2013 Author Posted April 19, 2013 Awesome to see it all setup and on display - great work! :D Thanks 'Danpb' for your kind words, now I have just finished off my extra non-city builds today......TMNT lare and the Quin-Jet....so the butchers shop and delivery van can get started....so keep watching ! LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 Now finally New Mannum in all it's glory....... You're right Tiger, the whole layout is stunning! Great work! Quote
monsinjor Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 Hey Tiger, New Mannum is excellent! It's nice to see all the parts together. Really impressive job. Thank you for sharing this and I hope it will grow bigger and bigger. You are the man! Quote
soccerkid6 Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 Impressive layout, cool to see everything hooked together I'm sure the kids enjoyed it Quote
lightningtiger Posted April 21, 2013 Author Posted April 21, 2013 Thanks 'LT12V', 'monsinjor' and 'soccerkid6' for your kind words, and yes the kids ready did enjoy the display.....but the funny thing was back in 2011 kids just wanted to push the trains around the track and in 2013 they kept on asking to see my other two running......I had to explain that they had no motors in them and my little red engine couldn't push or pull them very well. Hopefully for 2015 I'll have a PF train for more guts......Brick On ! Quote
