Guts finds nothing under the bed. The bucket smells of human waste, and he finds some clothing in the dresser. When he knocks over the statue, the head breaks off.

Ellaria, who was keeping the alchemists company, hears a crashing sound from the room that Guts went into, and goes to check it out. She bumps into Guts on the way.

"What happened there? We heard something crash. Are you alright? Do you need help searching?"

"There was another one of those statues in there. I moved it, to see if anything would happen. It broke. Perhaps you can find something I did not, it might be a good way to ask for the purpose of those things. Magic can do things to statues, I've found."

"Damn right magic can do things to statues..." grumbles Atramor, looking up from the map. "Can't trust the things anymore. But what they hell are they doin' here in an alchemist's safehouse?"

Atramor steps back from the staircase, at least for the moment, and opens the door next to it.

I'm hoping downstairs is where they keep all the real supplies. First floor is a bust as far as loot goes. :grin:

Ellaria hears the two men rummaging at the back of the cottage, and grows worried.

"Guys... Be careful back there! And shout hard if you get in trouble, please!"

She glances at the front door, and hopes they aren't attacked before her companions get back.

Atramor opens the door and the only thing he finds inside is a treasure chest.

Meanwhile, Guts inspects the kitchen. The window yields a nice view, Cleaver (WP: 8), the wine glasses the the bottles are all empty, but the keg contains some drink left in it. The cauldron is empty, and when he looks up the chimney he can't see a thing.

Atramor smirks, and uses his well-honed badass lockpicking skills to try and open the chest.

Guts takes the Cleaver with him, you never know when you'll need one, and pours what's left in the keg in the bottle. He then returns to the sitting room.

"Place seems to be mostly clear, except for the basement which we haven't checked yet. What was this place before it became the Guild's safehouse? And what's with these statues?"

Thank god, I thought we stumbled into some sort of alternate dimension where containers aren't locked... *huh*

Atramor thinks for a moment, scratching his head, and decides to head back to the first hall, picking up the Halberd, then to the bedroom to place it in the yellow statue's hand, just to see if it has any noticeable effect.

"Guess our next stop is the basement. But first, like Guts said, I wanna know some more about this place, if ya' know anythin'."

Atramor takes the Halberd off the wall and places it in the statues hand. If he was expecting something to happen, he's dissapointed.

"Then, well....damn. I've been attacked by inanimate objects far more often than I should be....I'd like us all to head downstairs. I'd rather not leave the people we're s'post to be protectin' behind. Even if we run into trouble down there - like all basements I've been down in - at least we'd be able to keep an eye on ya'll," advised Atramor, nodding to the alchemists, and waiting for the party's response to his suggestion.

"Lead us to the chest. I have something that may help..."

Ellaria takes out her magnifying glass, and inspects the puzzling chest.
