Blah, we've had so many other Pirate LEGO videos and animations posted here so we might as well keep this one here too. I have doubts that the Community Forum will miss it.

I shall now watch the trailer...

I've slightly modified the thread title to let everyone know this is a thread about a movie. I felt "Pirates of The Great Salt Lake" was a bit vague on its own, but perhaps as time goes on the movie will become more popular and thus its title will be more recognisable.

No Prob Mr. Phes,

Makes a lot more sense the way you changed it. *y*

Captain KIRK Redgrave eh? Sounds familiar... Those guys remind me of.... myself! I'd like to see this, but I doubt it will be in cinemas over here... blehh... The song on the end of the trailer remind me on the Jack Sparrow song (curse of the black pearl version).

Yes, it actually has a very nice plot to it, and it does seem quite funny.

The more of a question is: Would you, MisterPhes, see this movie shall it come to a cinema near you?

Probably not because I won't have the time. Although this year I shall endeavour to see more movies at the cinema however the opportunity will be limited.

But because of limited opportunity the movies I intend to view at cinemas must utilise the technology. I.e. they look visually stunning and thus experienced better on the big screen or they have an awesome soundtrack which makes full use of the surround sound system - otherwise I'll just wait for it to be released on DVD.

Pirates of The Great Salt Lake doesn't seem to meet those criteria but I might make an exception. I just might... I'll see how things go.

Yes, that's a good point Mr Norrington, I suppose it depends on who the distributor is and how the film performs in the US.

Napoleon Dynamite got an international cinematic release didn't it? And this film is apparently made by the same lot so maybe their distributor will have enough faith to release it internationally.

If not there's always the DVD release.

I'd emailed the makers of this movie about when they're going to have the movie release on DVD. Their reply was that the current plans is to have it available on DVD between June and Aug of this year.

Though, they did mention that there'll be a limited supply availible |-/

They're just covering their behinds in case the film is unsuccessful - if there is sufficient demand for a DVD release then they'll meet this demand otherwise they'll be missing out on an opportunity to make money.

However, I'm writing that statement in ignorance because I know nothing about the distributor(s) or the circumstance the film is being released. Nevertheless, even amateur films will be picked up by the larger distributors and become available in greater quantities if they think they can make money from it.

Mister Phred, who are the "makers" of this movie and where did you obtain their Email address from?

Intersting. Did they say the realese date of the movie?

Nope, they just gave me a rough estimate. It's an independant film, so i guess anything goes :-$

I don't really know, but it's definetely an independant film. I keep on seeing that it's won independant film awards and stuff.

and where did you obtain their Email address from?

If you go to the homepage and click on Contact on the top right of the page it'll bring you here.

And that's where i got the email address :)
