Pate-keetongu Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 Next addition to my Hobbit Dwarves series, King Thorin: Thorin, heir of Durin and exile king of Kingdom under the Mountain. This dwarf was interesting build because the amount of detail on the costume. I'm particularly happy with the armor mail and bracers. I also built a bit less sharp version of Thorin's sword Orcrist. More on my blog Cyclopic Bricks, Flickr and Brickshelf. Thanks for watching! Quote
Slobey Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 (edited) Awesome work!!! I love the use of the tubing as hair braids... Looking forward to see how you tackle Bombur Edited April 3, 2013 by Slobey Quote
SteampunkDoc Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 Nice! I've been following your dwarf series, and it just keeps on getting better and better. You did a fantastic job on the coat, and using the tubes as hair was a great idea. Orcrist looks great, and you've captured the shape perfectly. Amazing man, simply amazing. Quote
Brickington Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 Again, awesome build! I love what you are doing with these! Truly great work! The only thing wrong is the sword doesn't look right. Quote
JllSantos Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 Amazing Work, Really great work on the sword handle Quote
harton Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 Really clever, he seems even more happier than in the movie! I really like his coat and the checker effect. Well done! Quote
soccerkid6 Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 Your dwarve replicas are amazingly accurate, Thorin's armor is perfect Incredible detail throughout the whole fig Quote

Pate-keetongu Posted April 4, 2013 Author Posted April 4, 2013 Thanks, everyone! Looking forward to see how you tackle Bombur I have some ideas for the big-boned one already' date=' but have to wait LUGBULK order to get olive green pieces and Bricklink some orange for the beard before I can build him. DO one of Balin! Did already, Balin is my favourite of these dwarves. You can see him here. Quote
