MOC: The Invasion Begins

Here's my first attempt at quite a few things, including:

First Mech/Robot

First Landscape

First display base

Pretty much my first MOC, or at least a serious attempt at one. So, here it is:

Everything is built well here. Moreover, it makes the viewer ask, "what is that mech doing in the cornfield?"

For a several first tries it looks pretty great. Love the landscape, that's one aspect I can never make well. Some interesting part usage for the mech, too.

Thanks for the compliments! Any other suggestions or criticisms? I'm really focused on becoming a better MOCer this year so anything is appreciated.

I was trying to make it look like an impact crater, with the mech rising out of it. Did I succeed or is it one of those "Oh, now I get it" type of deals?

It wasn't too obvious that it was a crater, but it still had a very impressive look.
