I'm new to Germany, and as the title suggests, I'd like to know where I could find LEGO. I know that there's Real, and a LEGO store in the area, but I was wondering what other retailers carry it. I live in the Wiesbaden area, to be more specific.

Thanks!

Hi and welcome to EB!

I don't live close to Wiesbaden, but in general Kaufhof and Karstadt are good places to look out for.

Especially when they sell older sets (like "Dino" some weeks ago) for 40-60% off.

You should also try Intertoys. There are some in Germany. They have some sets reduced and around Christmas, the sets get really cheap thanks to the 20% discount.

I've also just seen BR Spielwaren. They are all around Hamburg. But sadly only there. They seem to have REALLY good prices. Weathertop for 50€ for example.

If there is someone looking here, living in Hamburg or around, I would really apreciate to get in touch with me.

Sadly, the BR Spielwaren have no onlineshop. The sets can only be bought in the store. I would like to work something out.

While we are on the topic of LEGO in Germany, has anyone been to the LEGO themed store in central Berlin? What did you think of it? We hope to visit there soon. Thanks!

The info about where to purchase LEGO in Germany is also helpful. Any tips for Swiss stores as well in the Luzern and Zurich areas? Cheers!

I visited that store this past summer. It's definitely worth stopping in to look at. I picked up two unofficial LEGO sets there; micro models of the Berliner Dom and Reichstag. I almost missed them; I think they were in a display case just inside the entrance. Ask someone if you don't see them. They were very cheap and make fantastic souvenirs.

Hi, I'm from Hong Kong and having a trip to Germany in June, is there any brick shop in Munich, Frankfurt and Berlin are recommend for older sets? could you also advise the address of the Lego themed store in central Berlin mentioned? Million thanks!!

StrOngbad, Thanks for the info about the Dom and Reichstag inside the LEGO Berlin store. They sound like wonderful souvenirs! Is the place like a theme park or more like a store? Is there a place to eat inside the store? Looking forward to seeing it!

What I visited was more like a store. If there is anything like a theme park, I missed out. There are actually two stores; a small one above ground by a big LEGO giraffe and then the larger one that they directed me to was, I think, down a level. There isn't any dining facility in the LEGO store but there are plenty of places to eat around it. I'm really jealous. I'd do just about anything to go back!

Permanent residents might want to consider Ebay Kleinanzeigen: http://kleinanzeigen.ebay.de/anzeigen/

It is a cost free branch of ebay that works not with auctions but with small ads. It was usually designed for local transactions, but people use it for shipping as well. People often use it as a cost free substitute for Ebay. You can enter where you are and define a radius in which to search. It does not offer any legal security though as it was originally designed for local transaction, i.e. going outto collect the goods yourself.

I made some good deals there, for example a kingdoms castle for half price.

Just a quick info:

Toys'R'Us in Germany has a promotion running from today until the 7th (? I'm not sure).

9466 is reduced to 25€ and Speedorz are around 7€.

and second theres is a "Buy 2, get the cheapest 50% off" on City sets only.

So when you buy 2 City sets, the cheapest one is reduced 50%.

Good deal, so I bought the last of he 20€-vehicles I was missing.

Better phone your market and ask if they have the promotion.

It definitely is running in Oberhausen.
