Flare Posted April 10, 2013 Author Posted April 10, 2013 (edited) Round Eighteen of the Pond Scum Boss Battle! Boomingham vs. Haman - Critical Hit / Critical Hit ((10*2)+21=41*2=82 damage) Nagure vs. Haman - Damage / SHIELD: Frenzy (29*2=58 damage) Sorrow vs. Haman - Damage / Critical Lethal Hit / Lethal Hit (20*2+18=58*2=116 damage, Haman KO'd) Sorrow vs. Haman - 1 / 6 / 4 >Alexander vs. Haman - 6 / 5 >Thalion vs. Haman - 6 / 4 >Sancho vs. Haman - 5 / 3 The battle finishes as the expert assassin and businessman, Sorrow, swipes his steel fan at the possessed frog-eating enemy, cutting off one of his ears and mortally damaging him. In his dying breaths he hisses at the heroes. "Just because... you... could beat me... doesn't... mean... *gasp* that you can beat... *gasp* all of us... this city will be destroyed one day... by the likes of... me... the simple... folk... the oppressed... *gasp*" With his dying breath, Haman has only one thing left to say: "I hope... *gasp* you all will be murdered in... your sleep very soon..." With that, Haman passes away. But there seems to be some strange effect on Sorrow. He starts twisting and turning, seemingly not from his control. Perhaps the enemy they just defeated, has friends "higher-up"... ... All of a sudden, Sorrow screams out in pain. A white orb seems to emerge from his body, and quickly disappears with a poof. Something strange has happened. Very strange. The blue glow that Sorrow had under his hood had now changed to green... it seems... that they were left with only Syntax. ... Riley wakes up. "Ow, my head... Are we all right? It seems like you didn't really need my help to take down that monster..." Riley looks to the side, disappointed. Master Boomingham is indeed lucky to have you as a protector." "Don't I know it. Tell it to him. At least he killed the evil doers without much flinching this time around, though he still keeps some pretty poor company." Barty shoots an evil look at Sorrow and Sancho. "It was nice to serve alongside someone who respects the Gods, for a change." "Thank you all companions to win this battle, thank you for the loot." "Would have won it quicker if you'd helped out, boy-o. Sometimes you're outmatched. Doesn't mean you stop fighting. If you'd gone down, I would have made Sorrow get you back up again. If you and I serve together again and you sit in the back doing nothing while we all fight, I will have stronger words for you." Boomingham shakes his head. He then turns to Thalion. "It was a pleasure to serve with you, Thalion. Pass me that shovel when you're done and I'll dredge up some of the pond." Finally, Boomingham waddles over to the keeled over Sorrow. "How are you, chap?" Boomingham grabs the undead and straitens him up, supporting him on his shoulder. The hefty Paladin can easily support the rotting undead. "Best thing to do sometimes, Sorrow, is to just go ahead and walk it off." Quote

Thalion bowed to Boomingham, "The pleasure is all mine master Boomingham. And I see now the point you were making in our earlier conversation; you fought valiantly. I only hope I softened your opinion of us, mages. Even if just a little bit... And don't judge Alexander too harshly, he is still very young for our people and was just being cautious." Afterwords, Thalion looked at Merlyn and, with Alexander's help in translating, asked him with a smile, "Merlyn, before we get you back home, would you mind telling us your sister's name? We just need to be sure we have the right person..." He waited for Alexander to translate Merlyn's answeer. Note to QM: This last bit is only to eliminate the risk of failing a quest because we ended up with a wrong frog in the heat of battle. Quote
Wedge09 Posted April 10, 2013 Posted April 10, 2013 To the accusations of the Boomingham, Alexander remains offended and responding with an icy tone "Not all of us are prepared for hand to hand combat, some of us prefered the ranged combat. Secondly, not all are experienced as "worship". Finally, I prefer to stay alive than having someone a favor for letting me resurrect." Then he turns away from Boomingham and he translate Thalion's words to the frog. Quote

Both IC and OOC, we are ECO-friendly people (as much as we can be under the circumstances)... Alright. Both Nagure and Thalion dig in the dirt far away from the water, in order to avoid causing pollution. They both find nothing. Afterwords, Thalion looked at Merlyn and, with Alexander's help in translating, asked him with a smile, "Merlyn, before we get you back home, would you mind telling us your sister's name? We just need to be sure we have the right person..." He waited for Alexander to translate Merlyn's answeer. The frog didn't need Alexander's help to understand the question, but did need translation help for his response. <"Morgan. She is the one who sent you guys searching after me, didn't she?"> ...Pass me that shovel when you're done and I'll dredge up some of the pond." Boomingham, not caring about nature as some of his other friends, takes the shovel, wades into the pond pushing aside a couple lillypads and starts digging. Quickly the shovel hits something hard. Ignoring the annoyed displaced frogs, he quickly finds out what is hidden underneath the pond, and a few minutes later extracts a rusty looking treasure chest. Perhaps the frogs were not the reason why Haman and his gang were so anxious about the pond. Chest - what could be inside?? Quote
