DrLegostar Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 Wasn't exactly sure which forum to post this in, but it seems mostly town related seeing as I'm working on the whole mansion. Started with the library as part of a Clue storyline and it kinda... kept going. More pictures in my Photostream. Quote
lightningtiger Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 Cool library 'DrLegostar'......lots of detailing, be AWESOME to see any other rooms to attach to this.....Brick On ! Quote
eurotrash Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 What a sumptuous looking library you've got! It looks like part of a rambling Scottish Castle. There's so much detail work and I love the secret passage, but if this just one part of your structure just how big is it finally going to be? Thanks for sharing it with us! Quote
jimmynick Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 This is outstanding, DrLegostar! There are so many great things to look at, such as the judicious use of both old brown and dark brown in the floorboards and the use of shields to make the walls more interesting. Great job on the furniture as well (the trophy cabinets are wonderful)! Quote

Too big to deal with at the moment, which is why I'm having to build it in pieces. Quote
Artifex Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 Wow, I swear I had to look twice before noticing that the pic was of your MOC, not of a real place! Awesome job! I really like the hat there -- nice touch Quote
DrLegostar Posted February 6, 2013 Author Posted February 6, 2013 Okay, now here's the game, see if you can spot all the references to Collectible Minifigures. Not to mention other themes. Quote

Not sure about the CMF References - every time I look at the pictures I see Scooby and Shaggy. It's definitely a MOC that you can spend some considerable time looking at. Quote
Kristel Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 Wow, this is amazing. There are so many details to explore. I particularly like the candelabra and hidden doorway / secret passage, and how you have placed the same books next to each other so that they look like volumes in a set. I see quite a few of the CMF accessories - the genie's lamp, aztec's helmet, waiter's bottle, the big trophy, statuettes, swords, shields, honey pot, cowboy's hat and the golden staff from the egyptian guy, I'm looking forward to the next instalment and seeing what mansion as a whole will look like! Wedge09 Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 Awesome  I really like the "old" style and all the detailes you put in Quote
King Aragorn Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 This is a stunning work! I love the warm atmosphere created by wood! Quote
Andy D Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 (edited) Your library is great! I hope you can complete the entire "Clue" mansion, it would make a wonderful place for a reenactment of he Clue movie/game in LEGO stop motion or just a series of photos. The storyline in the comic I did which prompted the start of the whole building of the library can be found here http://www.legostargalactica.net/2012/01/02/01022012/ There are meager views of the various rooms which are acting as inspiration for the parts of the larger mansion I'm working on, so yeah, there's that.
