SalvoBrick Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 Hello! In my town I had a building with a simple garage door and a "taxi" sign found among some old bricks. This builng was totally uninteresting, so I decided to turn it into a fire station. Actually it's a 16-wide small fire station with a garage door, with a longer back, so I can fit a modified version of the old fire truck: This is the back: As I've said before, it can fit the old 7239 fire truck (without trailer, of course :) ) Fire alarm! The firemen are ready to reach the fire in time and save the day! I will modifiy it in future, maybe I'll do a 32-wide version when I'll re-arrange the town. Future updates will be posted in this thread. Hope you liked :) Quote
Luke Styer Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 Very cool little fire house. I totally want a taxi garage, though, now that you talk about that sign. Quote
lightningtiger Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 Delightful fire station 'SalvoBrick'.....Brick On ! Quote
eurotrash Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 I like what you've done on a 16-wide - it's a difficult width to make things fit in, but there's some nice features there. Thanks for sharing it with us! Quote
LukeClarenceVan Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 Love the use of orange, nice work. Quote
jimmynick Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 Very nice, SalvoBrick! I like the use of orange on the facade. Quote
Vincent Kessels Posted February 9, 2013 Posted February 9, 2013 That is a very nice 16 wide modular building! Quote
hush Posted February 9, 2013 Posted February 9, 2013 Very cool fire station, i like it a lot :) Quote
DrLegostar Posted February 9, 2013 Posted February 9, 2013 Well built, fits in really well with the other modular builds, I really like it. Quote
greg3 Posted February 9, 2013 Posted February 9, 2013 I like the combination of colours on the front (to me though the red at the sides/rear is a bit too much!) Still, the building design is great and I look forward to seeing in a town environment. Nice work! Quote
SalvoBrick Posted July 19, 2013 Author Posted July 19, 2013 I've modified the fire station, now it's 24-wide (I don't ha ve enough red bricks to do a 32-wide building) and it could be arranged to became a corner building. The fire truck still fits perfectly More pictures here (when moderated): http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=507528 Quote
timmyc1983 Posted July 19, 2013 Posted July 19, 2013 It's a nice looking building! I like the extended version, great conversion! And the bins look great! I wonder what you have done with the back in this new format? Happy building Quote
eurotrash Posted July 19, 2013 Posted July 19, 2013 The original was good, but the extra width definitely enhances it. Quote
jluck Posted July 19, 2013 Posted July 19, 2013 I love the design, it has the feel of a standard Lego set. But to be honest the part that really caught my eye were the dumpsters, pretty cool! Quote
Bamos Posted July 20, 2013 Posted July 20, 2013 I really love both of your firehouses. One thing I miss on the second version is the roof access stairway it added some character to the smaller version. The first smaller one looks like and older firehouse from the turn of the century. Just add a horse drawn pumper and a hose drying tower. Bill Quote
paostmo Posted July 20, 2013 Posted July 20, 2013 Lovely. Both versions are great. I like the wider version more, but like Bamos mentioned, the roof access on the 16 stud version added some character to the build. Quote
SalvoBrick Posted July 20, 2013 Author Posted July 20, 2013 It still has roof access :) the small tower has a door on the back side Quote
paostmo Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 I have been using LDD to make a 16 stud wide police station for my city. The bottom floor looks pretty similar to yours. I just need to find some black garage door panels. Quote
