Athos Posted January 28, 2007 Posted January 28, 2007 Thought I'd post this here too, since it references a new Pirate ride: Read the news article I wonder if it means that a new Pirates line is on the horizon? Wasn't there some sort of ride thing that resembled the new Castle line? Steve Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted January 28, 2007 Posted January 28, 2007 Good news. A new pirate ride at Legoland may mean a new pirate theme for Lego. They have to have products for their gift shops. I remember when Dino Attack came out, Legoland made a dino coaster around the same time. Quote
tedbeard Posted January 28, 2007 Posted January 28, 2007 I wonder if it means that a new Pirates line is on the horizon? Not likely. The Parks are now owned by a seperate company who are building an attraction, not designing sets. I highly doubt there is any coordination between what they add to the parks and new sets. Do you think they are going to create LEGO Vegas sets? :-D Quote
dunamis Posted January 28, 2007 Posted January 28, 2007 I've been going to LegoLand for a couple of years now and they started working on the Pirate ride before the sale of the park. It would not surprise me to see another Pirate line. On the flip side, you would think that if they were going to have a new Pirate line, they would have had the sets available for the opening of the ride so who knows... Quote
Zaktan of the Shadows Posted January 28, 2007 Posted January 28, 2007 Nice! Pirate shores was cool, and now a new ride? I hope Pirates come back... -ZotS Quote
Eurobricks Emperor Bonaparte Posted January 28, 2007 Eurobricks Emperor Posted January 28, 2007 Needless to say that I'm also hoping that the pirate theme returns! Quote
Scouty Posted January 28, 2007 Posted January 28, 2007 I second ^ That! I hope the line( a good SYSTEM line) comes. SYSTEM, not DUPLO or 4+. Quote
El Bucanero Posted January 28, 2007 Posted January 28, 2007 I'm not so sure about this, there was no new pirate ride when the 4+ pirates introduced, was it? But perhaps, we get lucky, and there will be a new SYSTEM pirate line soon... Quote
Capn Kirk 911 Posted January 28, 2007 Posted January 28, 2007 Hopefully a new pirate line is on it's way :-D Finally!!! Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted January 28, 2007 Governor Posted January 28, 2007 Good news. A new pirate ride at Legoland may mean a new pirate theme for Lego. They have to have products for their gift shops. We must bare in mind this ride is an expansion to "Pirate Shores" so its not like a whole new pirate section is being implemented, they're just adding to what's already there. You can see images of Pirate Shores in Imperial Scout's Life size models anyone? thread. The LEGO sculptures look fine, but their surroundings seem a bit dismal. I'm not so sure about this, there was no new pirate ride when the 4+ pirates introduced, was it?But perhaps, we get lucky, and there will be a new SYSTEM pirate line soon... As far as I'm aware Pirate Shores was added because of the 4+ Pirate theme, as prior to it LEGO Land California had no Pirates whatsoever. So maybe this ride comes in the wake of the Duplo theme that was released last year, then again maybe its a prelude to something greater. Quote
tedbeard Posted January 29, 2007 Posted January 29, 2007 ...you would think that if they were going to have a new Pirate line, they would have had the sets available for the opening of the ride so who knows... You would also think that with the popularity of pirates over the last five years and the release and success of the POTC movies they might have brought back System Pirates but they did not. The number of people going to the parks is miniscule and a marketing campaign around a new ride with supporting sets would be foolish from a business standpoint. Hey I would rather see a re-introduction of Pirates over Martians (or whatever they are) any day but TLG seems to have their own agenda and since they are returning to profitability it is hard to argue they are making the wrong choices (even though they are. :-$ ) Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted January 29, 2007 Governor Posted January 29, 2007 The number of people going to the parks is miniscule and a marketing campaign around a new ride with supporting sets would be foolish from a business standpoint. This is a very good point! But I'm guessing they saw it the other way round. I.e. The new ride was to support upcoming sets. Although the ride don't do much good if you can't get to LEGO Land California and that would be the majority. Quote

Athos Posted February 5, 2007 Author Posted February 5, 2007 Well, welcome to the forums, though I must say you're not off to the best start... *sweet* (he's winking, but you can't tell because of the patch). I imagine it wouldn't take too much looking to find any number of threads discussing the issue. I must also say you might want to clarify your topic, so people like me won't think you have some new information. Steve Quote

Capn Frank Posted February 7, 2007 Posted February 7, 2007 It's a meager hope, but it's still hope. Lego might be reintroducing System pirates with this new ride, but i doubt it very much. As mentioned earlier, TLC ain't going to make vegas sets either :-X . Greetings Mr Heyann! Captain Roger Posted February 8, 2007 Posted February 8, 2007 i think a new pirate theme would be good but i have doubts...i think TLC should re-release old sets... and if TLC make new pirates...the would be new sets of the old pirate theme, i'd love seeing new Imperial armada sets, because they are only 2 Quote
El Bucanero Posted February 13, 2007 Posted February 13, 2007 I found this on a site of LL Deutschland: Pirates wanted! In 2007, LEGOLAND Quote
