lightningtiger Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 Last year I came up with this..... So now in 2013 I have restarted the CITY Motors idea all over again......here's a work-in-progress photography.....just two shots to start. This is the 2013 bearings & hand tool shop.....buy drive belts, bearing kits, power drills and assorted mechanic's hand tools. Note the tech brick in the picture......surprise coming.....something I've never done before.....keep watching ! Quote
Captain BeerBeard Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 I get a late 80's vibe here from the building style. The sign is more vintage like 60's or 70's. It's a WIP so it's hard to give any criticism. Looks pretty city to me. Quote
lightningtiger Posted January 29, 2013 Author Posted January 29, 2013 Good to hear from you again 'Cpt. BB'.......the first image was the original from April last year......now I'll have more pictures tomorrow with that surprise in it I hope. Quote
Farnheim Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 I like the interior a lot. The shelfs and the counter look cool. Can't wait to see, how the building is going to look like. Keep up the great job, lightningtiger. Quote
lightningtiger Posted January 29, 2013 Author Posted January 29, 2013 Thanks 'Farnheim', the counter is a rebuild of one from two years ago in my attempt at building a full blown shopping mall but gave up to throw all efforts into how my Aussie town looks now. And no, this isn't part of said town.....just a little flight of fancy for the great vehicles range and Cuusoo....the old one has 47 supports. The interior you see now is still a w-i-p as well......but next up will be the tyre (tire) bay....racks of tyres and machinery for tyre fitting/balancing. Keep watching. Quote
gazumpty Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 Great work there lightningtiger I love the interior details and the scale that you work at. Shame I'm in Scotland and your in Oz, would be great to pull our Classic Town/City MOC together. Quote
Wedge09 Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 Really nice work  I can't wait to see the surprise coming Quote
tomdobs55 Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 LT, I love your little shops, you're always able to pack in so little details on the shelves, can't wait to see the surprise! Quote
Luke Styer Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 The original version looks great, and the interiors of the new look good, too. I look forward to seeing more. Quote
lightningtiger Posted January 29, 2013 Author Posted January 29, 2013 Thanks everyone for your positive feedback, well like I wrote this is not part of my Aussie town but just a side project.....oh, yeah and there will be more today with that surprise....an original design idea of mine....so keep watching later today. Quote
lightningtiger Posted January 30, 2013 Author Posted January 30, 2013 I told everyone there be a surprise today..... Yep, a 12 wide tilt door totally SNOT too....well it's upside down isn't it ? It's starting to look like an old gas station eh ? I still have to build onto the side of this tyre racks and equipment......then the mega side - the showroom with upstairs sales office(s)......keep watching ! Quote
tomdobs55 Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 o0o0o0o0o0o Love the door. Considered using something like that on my fire station. Your buildings are always fantastic, can't wait to see more. Quote
lightningtiger Posted January 30, 2013 Author Posted January 30, 2013 Thanks and a piece of advice on the door....note the position of the pavement in front of the door....it's one plate thickness lower so the door can swing open as there is a 2mm height issue because I chose said SNOT mounting position. Of course more tomorrow.....keep watching ! Quote
kermit Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 Very nice I also need to start building houses for my city. Great inspirational build for me. Quote
lightningtiger Posted January 30, 2013 Author Posted January 30, 2013 Thanks 'kermit', I'll be building tyre racks tomorrow but should they be fixed to a wall or mobile on a trolley ? Quote
