Kai NRG Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 A young Kaliphlin adventurer hunts ptarmigan for his evening meal in the Rakath Mountains. (Credit to for the bird idea!) Just a quick little build before I start on Challenge VI and to tide me over until I write the story for those other three I have almost ready... A few more versions on my flickr! C&C are welcome! PenPlays Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 (edited) The bird is just a feather... someone's hallucinating again. JK, that is a pretty good idea for a small bird. I suppose this is to prove to me that the Rakath mountains have snow? Well I'm convinced. Great build. Edited January 11, 2013 by Penkid11 Quote
soccerkid6 Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 Nice little base, sets the scene off nicely Very nice tree and I like that technique for dead birds. Your photo looks good too Quote
Captain BeerBeard Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 I don't get it? What is supposed to a bird? Quote
Kai NRG Posted January 11, 2013 Author Posted January 11, 2013 Thanks guys! ...I suppose this is to prove to me that the Rakath mountains have snow? Well I'm convinced. Great build. Actually, that wasn't the reason at all. But now that you mention it... yes, I guess it does prove that the Rakath mountains have snow. I don't get it? What is supposed to a bird? The feather my adventurer is holding. Quote
Captain BeerBeard Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 Oooohh. I guess I can see that. Quote
Maxim I Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 The edges are very nicely done I was somewhat confused as well because I was thinking that the giant white structure was supposed to be a bird, but then I saw the dead thing in the hands of the brave young adventurer I am pretty sure that scene was not that far from the Mitgardian border And I am completely sure that the I.A.M.S. will contact this huntsman to give him some more advanced training Quote
gedren_y Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 Yes, the mountains north of Qarkyr have snow. The southern end of the range tends to be sub-tropical. Just be sure not to wander too far south with a bird carcass. Eat it soon, because the Nestlands Clans of the Armored Eagle Goddess have very harsh punishments for killing a bird. Quote
Kai NRG Posted January 12, 2013 Author Posted January 12, 2013 Thanks, Da Maximus, Captain BeerBeard, and gedren! Yes, the mountains north of Qarkyr have snow. The southern end of the range tends to be sub-tropical. Just be sure not to wander too far south with a bird carcass. Eat it soon, because the Nestlands Clans of the Armored Eagle Goddess have very harsh punishments for killing a bird. He'll be sure to eat it soon then! But he's probably far enough north that the thing would go bad before reaching the Nestlands Clans... Quote
Mike S Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 Nice little vig! The hunter looks quite happy but I really do wonder how much meat he will find on such a tiny bird.... Quote
badboytje88 Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 Nice little vig! The hunter looks quite happy but I really do wonder how much meat he will find on such a tiny bird.... It's probably bait for something bigger! Quote
Kai NRG Posted January 12, 2013 Author Posted January 12, 2013 Nice little vig! The hunter looks quite happy but I really do wonder how much meat he will find on such a tiny bird.... Thanks! Maybe he already ate part of it? It's probably bait for something bigger! That could be too! Plenty of polar bears out there looking for a snack! (Actually, are there polar bears in Historica?) Quote
Mike S Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 Thanks! Maybe he already ate part of it? Raw? He must have been really hungry... That could be too! Plenty of polar bears out there looking for a snack! (Actually, are there polar bears in Historica?) There are polar bears in Historica, just not sure if they are called polar bears neither that there are plenty of them. Until LEGO produces some more they seem to be on the endangered species list. de Gothia Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 A nice little vig for sure! That base looks great! Quote

Either that or they are so endangered no one's ever seen one... Quote
