Cerebros Posted January 8, 2013 Posted January 8, 2013 Box: Minifigs: Van: Shellraiser: Not much of a reviewer myself but l enjoy building the set. I will be getting the lair as well so hopefully the set will look more complete. For me, l feel that the Shellraiser is quite empty inside but it does fit all four turtles inside. I have always wish for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in Lego form as l am such a big fan of the cartoon and movies, it is like a dream came true for me! Hopefully there will be more to come from Lego in the near future. Quote
badboytje88 Posted January 8, 2013 Posted January 8, 2013 I can't help but getting a Megabloky feeling from these sets... Quote
CorneliusMurdock Posted January 8, 2013 Posted January 8, 2013 I think you've got Leo and Mikey's legs mixed up. Quote
Brickmamba Posted January 8, 2013 Posted January 8, 2013 Thanks for the pictures, seeing this theme really brings back childhood memories, will buy just for the figures Quote
samxsteal Posted January 8, 2013 Posted January 8, 2013 I can't help but getting a Megabloky feeling from these sets... Not even. I recently when through and sorted all my logos and found my old tmnt mega bloks and Lego will always be better the quality in the figure it far better the van actually has playablity compared the the mega bloks version from 2k4. These sets are very nice addmited Lego usually does vignette style sets but that what they have always done. I see these as being a very popular line for both Lego and tmnt fans Quote

He's implying that they are sub-standard quality sets, which many have agreed upon- while the minifigs (as usual with Lego these days) are great, the sets are lacking in terms of design and aesthetic quality. It's true that these might be popular for kids and TMNT fans (Lego is a toy, after all, and is designed first and foremost for the young ones) but for the average Lego collector they have not been received all too well. BrickG Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 (edited) The Kraang droid minifigure is just awful. I don't know how they can go so wrong. It's the only bad minifigure in this theme so far. I'm also a bit disappointed that Dogpound isn't bigger. He really should have been one of their "macrofigs" like the Hulk. In the show he's HUGE. Edited January 9, 2013 by BrickG Quote

Their speech is awesome. Dogpound is mostly a maxifig, except his legs. I don't really remember his legs in the show, but I'm sure it's accurate. Quote
Brickscape Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 Just a note that you've got the small set of train wheels on the wrong end of the vehicle. Also, what are your impressions of the stability of the Shellraiser model? I was not impressed when I'd finished building mine. Quote

I dont see how they sre sub standard thats just my own opinion, but the shell raiser is awesome it pretty close to the action figure shell raiser and pretty close to the show it awesome how it can transform and go on rails. As for the other set the only set i saw and issue with was the lair But i mean that how pretty much all the set are now n days look at ninjago compared to the castles from the the older ninja Line but then again it it where fuller and larger the price tag would not be worth it. But all the others are great Stealth shell it almost exactly like the toy(hasn't been shown in the show yet) Baxters robot it pretty cool not quite like the show or figure, but there's really only so much the lego company can to. but again these are just my Opinion. I love them all the only one a took apart was the lair and that for use in my Lair moc. Quote
