z3_2drive Posted December 23, 2012 Posted December 23, 2012 I don't think anyone has tried it, and I don't think I have the skills to build this, but, has anyone thought of building one of my favorite cars, the Venom GT ? If anyone doesnt know what i'm talking about, its the amazing car that accelerate faster than a veyron, and looks better in my opinion. Pics: http://www.automobil...m-gt-cfd-04.jpg <- close to blueprint as you can get <--spyder version 1244 hp!!! and is very light-video- Quote
D3K Posted December 23, 2012 Posted December 23, 2012 (edited) It is pretty awesome! Is it in production yet? Anyhow, on topic; I imagine the relatively small size and intricate curvature of the general Venom GT/Lotus Elise/Exige will be a challenge to replicate accurately..? Still, would love to see this made in Lego! EDIT Maybe a challenge for Crowkillers, Sariel or some other high-skill car builder ? Edited December 23, 2012 by D3K Quote
z3_2drive Posted December 23, 2012 Author Posted December 23, 2012 It is pretty awesome! Is it in production yet? Anyhow, on topic; I imagine the relatively small size and intricate curvature of the general Venom GT/Lotus Elise/Exige will be a challenge to replicate accurately..? Still, would love to see this made in Lego! I think there is only a handful of these cars in the world, and yes, the curvature would be hard to replicate, but just look at Sariel's Zonda! he got the curves perfect, no need for panels. That's why I made this topic, to hopefully see this get made in technic form one day Quote
jorgeopesi Posted December 23, 2012 Posted December 23, 2012 I think it is just a muscled, very very muscled old car, a lotus elise, if nobody built it before... In my opinion it has the same problem as Ford GT and Mclaren F1 too much diference between rear and front wheels, they never would look as I would like, but there are a lot of great builders around here. DLuders Posted December 23, 2012 Posted December 23, 2012 On MOCpages, Rolling bricks recently posted his Lego Hennessey Venom (although not with Technic elements): Quote
z3_2drive Posted December 23, 2012 Author Posted December 23, 2012 funny, I just saw that as I was scouting the web to make sure nobody made it yet in TECHNIC, but his model looks nice too, especially in that scale Quote
dhc6twinotter Posted December 23, 2012 Posted December 23, 2012 Great looking car! It looks like a Lotus Exige that has been stretched. Quote
Lipko Posted December 23, 2012 Posted December 23, 2012 You don't think you have the skill to build this? I think you should challenge your skills to find out! Now go and build. Quote
clarkdef Posted December 23, 2012 Posted December 23, 2012 The venom is total awesome. Is it as fast as the Agera? If you were gonna represent these cars in technic you would need a variety of panels to capture that look. Quote
legomuppet9 Posted December 23, 2012 Posted December 23, 2012 (edited) Top Gear need to do a speed test of that Agera Anyway in my view this is just a stretched Lotus with a big engine. But if you like it, you can build it, challenge yourself although I prefer its European rivals.... Edited December 23, 2012 by legomuppet9 Quote
W0lF Posted December 23, 2012 Posted December 23, 2012 Characteristics are excellent, but the body from Lotus does not look very nice. Quote
z3_2drive Posted December 23, 2012 Author Posted December 23, 2012 (edited) maybe, but I would need blueprints, and there really aren't any, maybe i'll try to find... and would need various flex axle lengths, and I have 0 experience building supercars and it has a 'theoretical' top speed of 272mph! in this video, it gets to 230 mph in just 19 seconds!!!!!(370kph) - Edited December 23, 2012 by z3_2drive Quote
Paul202 Posted December 23, 2012 Posted December 23, 2012 Personally I would love to see the Sheby Cobra shown at the beginning of the video. Quote
SNIPE Posted December 23, 2012 Posted December 23, 2012 it looks like an ascari so maybe looking at ascari mocs might help give building ideas. Quote
z3_2drive Posted December 23, 2012 Author Posted December 23, 2012 Personally I would love to see the Sheby Cobra shown at the beginning of the video. well my friend, it has been done before by Tyler Reid- his cobra on MocPages- http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/135724 Quote
jorgeopesi Posted December 23, 2012 Posted December 23, 2012 Tyler Reid for me one of the greatest car builders, awesome with the soft axles, hopefully continue making cars his audi R8 is amazing. Quote
Meatman Posted December 23, 2012 Posted December 23, 2012 Does Tyler Reid still build cars? I found his work at crowkiller's website, but there doesn't appear to be anything new from him in some time. Quote
Luc2000 Posted December 23, 2012 Posted December 23, 2012 Hmmm. Not really a big fan of this car. An Elise/Exige should be light, with a small engine, and fun to drive. This MONSTER isn't fun, but impossible to drive! It has like 1000hp on the rear wheels, which means wheelspin in the first 3 gears! I built an Elise before, and I'm currently trying to make an Evora (Steering, 6-speed gearbox, suspension. RWD, transverse V6, technic body, no backseat, only 20 studs wide and a wheelbase of 28 studs, full RC - estimated time of completion: late summer or autumn next year) Quote
