Truly limited edition

With only 20,000 available worldwide and with every model featuring an individually numbered license plate, this is a fantastic chance to own something both exclusive and unique!

This is one of the most interesting pieces of info for me, but where is the licence plate? I can't seem to spot it on the preview image, unless it is hidden behind the bull bar or had not been added at that point.

Do we know if it will be available worldwide or just specific countries?

It will be available in the online store so I guess it can be delivered to anywhere.

May be on the rear?

It should be available for all countries to which LEGOShop is shipping.

It is not a Technic set, but TLG did number a limited edition of Santa Fe locomotive (10020-2).

10.000 units if I recall it right!

My UCS Millennium Falcon is numbered. The first 1000 orders got a number and certificate.

It is really nice to bring this "numbering feature" also to technic and for the first time on a model designed in cooperation with fans.

So how do I buy one? I'm in Australia, so should I be monitoring the Australian lego site, or the Danish one, or what?

I think you should go on the us website instead of Australia because it tends to more expensive there. For example on the au site the 42000 is about 140 and on the us website it is about 130, if i remember correctly.

Does that exclude shipping back to Australia and possible customs fees?

I don't expect it to be particularly cheap regardless, I'm more concerned about availability. Will a certain quantity of the 20,000 be allocated to each market (and hence each website)? Or are orders from all the global websites going to be fulfilled from Billund?

I imagine that they're going to sell out pretty quickly once they're available. I stupidly didn't enter the contest, so missed out on a chance at getting a free one, and I don't want to miss out on buying one just because I live in the colonies...

You won't pay customs fees to import goods into Australia if the value of goods is less than $900.. But I am not sure if the US lego online shop would allow postage to Australia as we have our own lego online shop.

Currently 42000 is rrp $159 on lego online Australia and $35 postage.

I imagine all lego online stores will be allocated some of the 41999 sets so everyone has a chance to buy one, otherwise you might have to hope some appear on ebay or bricklink later or get a friend overseas to order one for you :classic:

Aussies are only able to buy from the Aus S@H site.

free shipping until August 31st will offset our inflated $AU pricing :sceptic:

Edit - Just emailed S@H a bunch of questions about pricing and availability for us Aussies, I will post any decent responses.

Yellow and Black is my fav colour, this is my favourite out of the technic challenge models

Nice work

EDIT

I did not know that the dark blue version was the same model

I like dark blue even better and hope TLG sell it as a limited edition set so I can buy it.

@ VFracingteam: Would you be willing to send a Eurobricks Private Message (PM) to jaaptechnic, with the (secret) e-mail address for The Lego Group's point of contact for claiming "The Boss" prize? Jaaptechnic could PROVE to The Lego Group that he is eligible for a prize, by referencing the specific MOC that he entered in the contest....

or a email...

don't know if this is the right way...

@DLuders

do you think TLG didn't make a problem when we do this?

I notified Conchas yesterday about some people not getting any mail from the Lego group,so I am glad to see my indivers have started to pay off.

Hopefully it wont be too long before the Lego group get in touch with Jaaptechnic.

@ jaaptechnic: Even though the contest was a success (in that it prompted some EXCELLENT entries from AFOLs), I personally thought that the ADMINISTRATION of the contest was poor. There was no active disqualification of entries that were not based on the 9398 4x4 Crawler chassis, so the contest's Gallery was full of unnecessary clutter. I recommend being aggressive in claiming your prize, because (it seems) that The Lego Group has (undeservedly) forgotten about you. It will be several months before "The Boss" set is shipped, but it would be best to resolve the matter now.

is it still necessary to send a massage to Conchas about my problem or did someone else already do this?

@ jaaptechnic: Conchas is a regular reader of this Eurobricks topic, but you could send him a Eurobricks Private Message (PM) anyway. He's a LEGO Ambassador, so he has "contacts" with The Lego Group....

Posted

@VFracingteam: congratulations, I am glad it was finally resolved. Did you get some kind of additional explanation?

@Jaaptechnic: Official email stated to be replied till 3rd of May, so there still some time for a little wait. Especially after Conchas mentioned that it will be resolved/explained soon.
