Mahtion Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 (edited) My second attempt at a MOC. The last was Mirkwood and I believe I am improving. Initially I wanted to make Rivendell but the techniques are going to require more practice and I will need more grey stone parts among other pieces. This is Forlindon, on the coast of the far west where Gil-Galad reigns. Elrond and two elf lords are discussing matters regarding the Last Alliance. The entire set is still in progress but I purchased over 1500 bricks from bricklink and I will need more for the water effects and to finish some areas. Two custom elf lords have the Kingdoms chain mail torso with haldir head and Elrond hair and ears plus some Brickforge weapons. The Noldor guards are Elronds with Brickforge Spartan helmets. I also used those gold blade ninjago pieces to create an elven crest for the walls and gate entrance. Originally the balcony was a bridge for elven riders but I don't have any white horses or enough pieces to finish a cliff on the other side. I will definitely finish this when I get more bricklink orders like clear plates for waterfalls and maybe some kind of hinge to create a roof for the gateway. Vindicare Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 Wow! This is awesome. The architecture is great. The balcony with the waterfall is very impressive, looks really like flowing water. Not bad at all for your second MOC. I'd love to see the addition of a base and some landscaping added. Quote
PassionateMOCNoob Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 Nice build, it really has an elvish feel about it. I like the colour of choice, and the mass use of arches. Good job on the minifigs as well. Like you said the water needs some work, and some small landscaping would be nice. Maybe add some banners as well? Quote
Infernum Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 Wow! I love it! Very elvish looking! Quote
LEGO Family Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 Oh ... Never seen this .... Cant wait to se more ... Looks promising so far :) Quote
Maxim I Posted January 8, 2013 Posted January 8, 2013 Stop this topic right here! Stop with LoTR - buildings! Start your own Elf Clan in Kaliphlin and build for our glory!!! -------- So in other words: Wow, this is looking really awesome already! It would be great to see you as a member of Kaliphlin (where the building colours are mostly white, tan and dark tan and variants) Quote
Niku Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 Wow for being a second attempt to mocing is really good, I speacially like the bridge part and the waterfall. Good job. Ps. forget about Kaliphlin join Avalonia. Quote
Mahtion Posted January 9, 2013 Author Posted January 9, 2013 Thanks for the invitations and compliments! I am so torn between choosing which guild to pick, Kaliphlin or Avalonia?? How do I go about joining one? I would love to finish this but I need lots more bricks and it will be at least a month before I can make another order. The entire wall is supposed to be covered in waterfalls like you see on the balcony and the entire set will sit on water. Also the gatehouse needs a roof which will be triangular and the walls need work. Of course I plan to add scenery aside from water like rockwalls and vegetation. Part of me wants to work on a Rivendell MOC next but this fortress needs attention lol. I looked at the instructions for Hogwarts 4842 and I want to mimic the design with changes to look like one of the buildings in Rivendell. Much cheaper than purchasing the entire Hogwarts castle which I wouldn't use the figs or many of the pieces, though some of the accessories are decent. Quote
Niku Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 Hi again Mahtion, this is the thread for the Guild of Historica. http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showforum=145 There you can choose to be part of a Guild that you feel suits you more. Quote
