Hope this is an okay topic...

I was over on LEGO.com and decided to take their forums for a spin. I find that the first thing you face is that everything (at least to start out) must be approved before it goes out at all. My first post was in reponse to the suggestion that an Avengers video game be made... Here it is...

I'd love one. Sadly, it will not happen AFAIK the company that makes the LEGO video games is owned by Warner Bros. who also own DC. this is probably why we have never seen a single Marvel LEGO video game and is also why ANti Trust laws in the US are far too weak

anyone care to guess if lego will allow it?

A topic? Of course they'll allow it, unless something's changed since I was last there. Their topic approval process is really about stopping spam and objectionable content, not about stopping members from posting ideas that TLG doesn't think are possible or effective. I can guarantee that plenty of members have posted their own "pipe dreams", and TLG doesn't try to censor those posts just because they're not effective.

As for whether your idea could really work, that's entirely up in the air. You raise some good points about the roadblocks that stand in the way, though it should be mentioned that there has been a LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean game, which is based on an IP owned by Disney (themselves a competitor of Warner Bros). So there is still some uncertainty. Even if your idea couldn't work, that doesn't mean your topic isn't worth posting. It would at least be a good place for other members to share what sorts of things they would like to see in their dream LEGO Avengers video game. And even if for some reason such a post didn't get approved, you certainly won't face any consequences for posting an idea like this as long as your post adheres to the LEGO Message Boards' rules and guidelines.

Nah, I remember a long time ago I posted a similar thing. I forgot what theme it was on, but it got a lot of support and agreements from me. After like, 20-30 supporters of an idea or whatever I had, the post disappeared. :hmpf_bad::look: If I remember correctly, it was deleted.

Stay away from the .com forums! Us Lego intellectuals who would love to hear what you say are right here. Most of what you said in that comment is something that the average 8-year-old has no clue about, and thus they will just ignore and glance over it, and then ask the same question again. Once I got here there was no turning back! It's full of kids that do not want to hear anything from young adults+ unless it complements them or is the answer to their questions that make sense. Also Lego keeps all posts moderated, so no talk or even speculation on future product unless input is asked for. The problem with that is: "I want the Ninjago Spinners to have blades disks that go on the bottom of the spinner two when I play the game and a spinner so that my ninja can't come off and so I can win"...

I think it's wonderful helping KFOLs, and they are a joy to talk to, but the Lego.com forum is not the place for intense discussion of some adult subjects.

Just my two cents.
