Mile85 Posted January 12, 2007 Posted January 12, 2007 Hello! You can call me Mile and I am from Finland. Born in 1985 I started collecting legos at the age 5 and collected them about 10years..and now I'm feeling a bit nostalgic. Now I'm starting to search for the missing pirate sets(just a few) for my collection and maybe if I have the time I'm gonna do a big MOC with pirate theme. Has anyone here made a BIG landscape including all the big original pirate sets? I personally don't want to mix my legos from different sets and build a MOC using them. I wanna keep them in order and use my other legos to do a big landscape (couple of islands, volcano, a big cliff a big shore) sadly I didn't have enough legos ten years ago to fullfill my childhood dream *n* I allready bought some more legos, but I need much more.. |-/ I think the best LEGO-era was in the 80's and early 90's. I think the last very good theme was the western sets..and later there was some good sets, but not really a good full-themes. and I hope that my english is good enough.. if not, just laugh or whatever :-D Quote
Starwars4J Posted January 12, 2007 Posted January 12, 2007 Welcome! I was born in the same year :-) I hope you'll enjoy Eurobricks And don't worry, your English is great! Better than a few Americans I know :-P Quote
Hobbes Posted January 12, 2007 Posted January 12, 2007 Welcome Mile! I think you will find tons of ideas in the Pirates and History & Adventure forums. Especially Pirates has tons (and I mean tons) of MOCs and ideas. But watch out, you can get lost in there ;-) Enjoy your stay :-) Quote

I think I'll try to do something new instead of looking too much what others have done.. But I still need more basic construction bricks, so I cannot do nothing big yet. Maybe I warm up by doing something small :-P I don't own digital camera though.. Quote
CopMike Posted January 12, 2007 Posted January 12, 2007 Welcome my fellow Scandinavian *y*. It will be exciting to see what MOC Quote
ApophisV Posted January 12, 2007 Posted January 12, 2007 Welcome around here! Has anyone here made a BIG landscape including all the big original pirate sets? Yes, I actually did something similar, but several years ago when my LEGO addiction was missing every internet- and photograhic aspect... :'-( But me and my girlfriend plan to build all my LEGO sets that currently are stored in sorting boxes within the next months, I'll probably set up some new dioramas then! ;-) Quote

Mile85 Posted January 17, 2007 Author Posted January 17, 2007 I can tell from your introduction you will be a valuable acquisition for EB. Welcome aboard! Now on to the most pertinent question: how many castle sets do you have? ;-) God Bless, Nathan thanks for the warm welcome.. "how many castle sets do you have?" I don't have many castle sets because I had to choose wich theme I would collect, I didn't have the money to buy it all *n* I think, that's a common problem :-D But my answer is 9 or 10, few older sets from 80's and couple more recent sets. I have lots of pirate sets though *sweet* I've seen few of your mocs and they are pretty good.. You must have lot of castle legos... And I heard you like gray colour *y* Quote
Holodoc Posted January 17, 2007 Posted January 17, 2007 I have lots of pirate sets though *sweet* Yeah man - i have seen your listing in the pirates Quote
Mile85 Posted January 18, 2007 Author Posted January 18, 2007 Thanks Holodoc! I'm planning to do couple of smaller isladers themed mocs before I start my bigger project.. Hopefully I can arrange enough free-time in the near future... Quote

Unfortunately I'm not X-D But I do like some of the lego classic space sets from 80's..that time was little before I started playing with legos, so the time wasn't right for me :-D Quote
