Hi All, My name is Rory. Originally from Ireland I now live in Canada. Loved lego as a kid but never really had a lot of sets.

Started getting back into it a few years ago with the modular buildings (which is how I found this site) and have since bought a bunch of track and a couple of the train sets.

For Christmas this year I decided to put together my first (very basic) track layout with some of the Winter Village sets. The kiddos had a great time building the train station and toy shop.

Hello, I'm not very new to this site but haven't made a post here yet. So just wanted to say hi. And becaouse I saw @Aleksi Perala here, also that for some reason I'm obsessed with things related to Finland and more their language, and becaouse of that I built the Hr1 steam locomotive. last year I took it to the brick train awards so here are some photos of it. It is kind of unstable, but I'll get around to fixing it eventually soon.

Hello all! This appears to be the place for new people to introduce themselves, so here goes... 

I've been a fan of Lego ever since I got my first DUPLO set as a toddler. Although I do build in other themes, most of my MOC work has been in the Trains theme. I'm especially partial to 10-wide models based on U.S. prototypes, such as the 2-6-0 steam engine visible in my profile photo. However, I also have built some 8-wide models of British prototypes in addition to a 2-stud-narrow-gauge British diesel locomotive in 6-wide. All my locomotive MOCs are equipped with Power Functions equipment, I never really did make the switch over to Powered UP. A fun fact about me is that my introduction to Lego trains was with the Passenger Train set from the R/C era. Sometimes I wonder if I wouldn't have such happy memories with that set if I had known about the 9V trains I'd just missed out on... 

So, that's my involvement with Lego trains in summary form. I look forward to being a part of the online community here.

Thank you @zephyr1934! I've appreciated your work for quite some time, I look forward to sharing a few MOCs here. The one from my profile photo is a model of the original Texas State Railroad #7, built by Baldwin in 1915. The model has since been rebuilt with greater detail, but a few years ago I submitted it for the Brick Train Awards 2023. @zephyr1934 Thank you! That was basically my goal, to build a model that was highly detailed but also would be an excellent workhorse for model-railroad style operating sessions. 

I'm sure you noticed that the drive rods are your Trained Bricks drive rods... aside from those, everything else is 100% un-modified Lego. On that note, I remember back when I ordered the drive rods that you would only offer a particular rod size for sale after hearing confirmation that it worked reliably. So, maybe now's a good time for me to tell you that the custom 3 hole, 13-stud long side rods you made custom for me have met and exceeded my structural and operational expectations. May I offer my long-overdue thanks?

I've done a fair but of modifying... motorising the "old" hogwarts express, the oriental express, the crocodile (all with Power Functions, the latter 2 with two motors each)

Recently got into Powered Up motors and have been enjoying using PyBricks

Hello @domik, thanks for sharing your model of Hr1. Looks like it's modeled after one of the last two built; either 1020 or 1021, equipped with roller bearings and Witte-type smoke deflectors. I have very fond childhood memories of a 1:10 scale model of this locomotive that used to reside in the ticket hall of Helsinki Central Station. You could make it run by inserting a coin. I built a 1:42 scale model a couple of years ago, here are a few photos and a video of it.

Yes, that's exactly the one I was looking at when I was building. Although I first saw it on a photo where there was the dark green one you built, and I prefer that one more then the one I built. Really like your model! and as an update I'm rebuilding my Ukko Pekka, and I hope it will be miles better

Oh and how did you do the lights?

You are very welcome Antoine. I wonder if you model French trains, or are your interests in another country? Or maybe just generic Lego trains?

I particularly like foreign trains :) by the way, I have the opportunity to drive some Spanish, Romanian trains etc., it's always nice to drive these trains.I also like French trains, but especially from the 80s/90s.
