this stuff might work better. the tube i bought got here and it is not rigid. it is very soft and very bendable. it's not going to work the way i wanted it to.

well I ordered a role so will let you know how it works out.

Also note that for full compatibility (eg. fixing in clips), the tube should have an external diameter of 3.2mm, not 3.0mm

.2 mm? That's so little that I wouldn't even notice it! Besides, I'm gonna put in inside a thousand of 1/4 pins so I don't care about that small fact. :sweet:

Still nice to know though....

The 3.0mm OD i got held just fine in clips. even though it was softer.

It's clear? Oh well, It's not like I can't build a track just because of that

Looks like we have the same idea, I do a bit the GBC and wanted to build a track still as you say it will be ok.

I think PFTE tubing is going to work better than vinyl tubing.

you have to search for 1/8" OD (outer diameter), which is 3.2mm.

maybe some sort of Teflon PFTE tubing like this one:

or something like this:

I do think it's important to have a thick wall and the ID (inner diameter) be as small as possible.

I'm not planning on building a track for GBC but something very different.

The bend-ability on the hoses ordered is really great, just like the LEGO hoses. But you are right, 3.2mm is better since this hose is sliding inside the pins. I don't mind that though, it's still perfect for my purpose.

The last tubing you linked to is really expensive so that's a no-go. I have no idea what material to look for so you could easily fool me.
