DLuders Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 It's a Mercedes-Benz Zetros Off-Road Truck! Quote
Pat-Ard Posted September 3, 2012 Author Posted September 3, 2012 hey guys, you're far too fast. Keep up the fun I think the cabs need some pimping at the grille... But there are the limits of LDD... Now comes the hard part... Chassis... Maybe I lend some ideas from effe's G-chassis... Pat Quote
efferman Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 (edited) nice project, i hope you will get a close look to the original with real parts too btw, which colour do you choose? orange is very limited in liftarms Edited September 3, 2012 by efferman Quote
Pat-Ard Posted September 3, 2012 Author Posted September 3, 2012 Thanks effe... I hope, that I get close enough... Yes, orange is very limited. But I'd like to try it. It would perfectly fit to the other two Mogs. What do you mean with "real parts"? Pat Quote
jorgeopesi Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 Good project, I used to do first the motorized part and the last thing is the body. Quote
Pat-Ard Posted September 3, 2012 Author Posted September 3, 2012 jorge: I'm not that good with MOCs. For this project I'll buy one more 8110. And then I'll customize it's main parts as long as it fits the scale... Or as I said before, I'll try effe perfect G-chassis and then add the power and pneumatic functions. Let's see... Pat Quote
Alasdair Ryan Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 (edited) You may want to look at the Liftarms on bricklink for your cab. There are no 7,11,9 liftarms in orange on sale on bricklink. Edited September 3, 2012 by Alasdair Ryan Quote
efferman Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 ldd is virtual, real parts ar made with plastic Quote
Pat-Ard Posted September 3, 2012 Author Posted September 3, 2012 @alasdair: hmm, I know Let's see... @efferman: oh yes!!! But since I haven't all the parts, I have to use LDD Quote

I can not speak for everyone but I also started by MODs in my case the Enzo and Fiorano Ferraris but I modified the inside the important thing is to learn little by little. Pat-Ard Posted September 4, 2012 Author Posted September 4, 2012 (edited) Jorge: yes, that's nearly my way. I'm glad that I managed to get the cab, that it slightly looks like the original. In my case that's the point pfno return, because I think, that a chassis is allways possible. Either copying and modding one or looking here for ideas @alasdair: how dis you manage to get thos list in BL? Pat Edited September 4, 2012 by Pat-Ard Quote
Alasdair Ryan Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 Buy > Parts > Liftarm Happy shopping.......... Quote
Pat-Ard Posted September 4, 2012 Author Posted September 4, 2012 Thanks, never gone this way, but thanks for the hint... And thanks again... But until the next order I'll wait some time, otherwise my wife might go crazy And there are still some orders on the way Pat Quote
Tim S. Posted September 5, 2012 Posted September 5, 2012 Hi Pat nice cab! I like it. It´s really close to the original! And there are the two problems again... missing parts and the wife! Tim Quote
Pat-Ard Posted September 5, 2012 Author Posted September 5, 2012 Hi Tim, thanks... Hmm, I think I solved the problem with the missing parts. Yesterday evenig I changed the missing orange parts to black. It dosn't look so bad... Now, there's still the other problem No, just kidding, my wife just laughs every time I go deep diving into Lego. She always says that it's too sad, that we only have daughters... I don't mind at all, so all the Lego is MINE . Pat Quote
Tim S. Posted September 5, 2012 Posted September 5, 2012 Haha, cool! I have 2 daughters, too. Tim Quote
Pat-Ard Posted September 5, 2012 Author Posted September 5, 2012 (edited) Hi everyone, changed the colour scheme a little, so all the parts are aviable... Doesn't look that bad... Pat Edited September 5, 2012 by Pat-Ard Quote
Pat-Ard Posted September 6, 2012 Author Posted September 6, 2012 Again THANKS! Now I have to figure out a chassis... I don't think that I need the full suspension like the 8110 - maybe at the front axle. I'd like to add the same functions as 8110. Pat Quote
Tim S. Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 What about the rear axles? Should it be a tendem axle? Tim Quote
