Siercon and Coral Posted August 28, 2012 Posted August 28, 2012 (edited) Please watch the VIDEO first! :D In response to this MOC we ask you to define in your own words the meaning of "Sacrilege".<br class="Apple-interchange-newline"> . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . So before you un-friend us, please note that no Legos were harmed in the making of this MOC. :) ALSO!... In case you haven't noticed this entire moc was made out of clone brands. And we have prepared a box of left over clone brand building blocks that we would be happy to ship to the first person who wishes to rescue them and pay for shipping. Thanks! Angeli Posted August 28, 2012 Posted August 28, 2012 (edited) you two are totally crazy ;) I will add more to this comment later ;) here it is: it looks better melted ;) (as estetic, not as "with hatred to the clonebricks":) Edited August 29, 2012 by Angeli Quote
Niku Posted August 29, 2012 Posted August 29, 2012 Sacrilege: In this case a necessary evil. That was totally unexpected guys. Quote
frogstudio Posted August 29, 2012 Posted August 29, 2012 (edited) I wouldn't call it sacrilege.. I'm sorry, but to me is simple stupidity (or let's better say: a stupid act). There are two many kids around there without toys to play with (and building blocks, whatever the brand are make exelent toys)who could have given a much more healthier use to those toys. Sorry, just my opinion... Edited August 29, 2012 by frogstudio Quote

PenPlays Posted August 29, 2012 Posted August 29, 2012 So from what I see, you managed to get this video from Lego-hell. You know, ...where all the clone brands go to be judged for eternity? Nevermind. Tell me how you got these to burn. I believe a proper bonfire is in order... Quote
Moexy Posted August 29, 2012 Posted August 29, 2012 (edited) Although I have to agree with frogstudio, I do have to say that the end result looks kinda good, especially the castle (the burning gave it a ruined look, like it was tainted by nature during a long period of time and it decayed slowly). Edited August 29, 2012 by Moexy Quote
Balrog Posted August 29, 2012 Posted August 29, 2012 At first I thought, that the one who did this shall burn himself. Until I found out it was a clone brand. Anyway, as much as I really do not like the various clone brands, I think this is wrong. But that is just due to my respect for toys :D Instead of burning the blocks, send them to some children who really might get happy with them. Quote
AwesomeStar Posted August 29, 2012 Posted August 29, 2012 You are utterly insane! I am glad it was early Mega Brands though. The Halo stuff they have been producing is nothing short of top-notch. Quote
soccerkid6 Posted August 29, 2012 Posted August 29, 2012 Quite the fireball I think it looks pretty good after being burned Quote
Gabe Posted August 29, 2012 Posted August 29, 2012 Very interesting - i don't really get the "megablocks must burn!" thing, but i do like the end result - the forms and textures created look almost painterly, and heaps more interesting than the model before burning it. As for the point that frogstudio makes, i must respectfully disagree... in the hands of artists like S and C, burning is just as valid a brick technique as the permanent glueing that you see on models in Legoland. You wouldn't say to an artist that they should donate thier paints and brushes to some needy kids if you didn't like thier work, well, i see this as pretty much the same situation. Quote
Masked Builder Posted August 29, 2012 Posted August 29, 2012 How bored were you two?! Though it looks much cooler melted. Quote
purpleparadox Posted August 29, 2012 Posted August 29, 2012 (edited) You guys just raised the bar for creativity, coolness factor (or should I say "hot" factor ), and overall insanity all in one! It looks a thousand times better melted. Thanks, this was a really interesting idea! EDIT: By the way, how'd you burn it? Did the Megablocks just catch fire by themselves, or did you have to coat 'em with gasoline or something? Edited August 29, 2012 by purpleparadox Quote
TheLegoNinja Posted August 29, 2012 Posted August 29, 2012 Why waste all those legos? you could have built something else with them if you were done with the MOC!!! Quote

Axis600 Posted August 30, 2012 Posted August 30, 2012 Okay, everyone's kinda been all "Why burn 'em?" I think it's actually pretty artistic. Sure, we can joke on and on about how we don't like Megabloks, bla bla bla. But now they have a beautiful art piece Don't worry, those kids can get better toys Quote

Governor Mister Phes Posted August 30, 2012 Governor Posted August 30, 2012 In response to this MOC we ask you to define in your own words the meaning of "Sacrilege". Well in this instance "sacrilege" seem to be degradation of the environment - burning plastic tends to release all manner of noxious fumes. How did it smell? Quote
Ecclesiastes Posted August 30, 2012 Posted August 30, 2012 (edited) Ofcourse I saw the picture first And thought what is Warhammer doing on Eurobricks, because it really looks like it! Good thing it isn't really Sacrilege Edited August 30, 2012 by Ecclesiastes Quote
Sirens-of-Titan Posted August 30, 2012 Posted August 30, 2012 You two are always pushing the frontier of creative brick use! You know, from the thumbnail the melted variant looked like an extremely elaborate Lego build. I thought I was looking at your most complicated build to date. Little did I know! Whoever is calling this wasteful should look into the history of festivals such as the ones held in Spain in which floats are meticulously decorated and made beautiful for hours and then burned in the town square. It's the same concept, not a loss. And I was one of those kids whose parents didn't get them lots fancy toys, but guess what, I always preferred Lego over anything else, despite the price difference. (One small Lego set > any large set of other clone brand) So save it; I'm not buying the argument. Quote
wokajablocka Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 Burn them, burn them all! (from The Simpsons where the Leprechaun tell Ralph to burn things). This is would be sacrilege if they where real Lego, but its not. Quote
