Capn Frank Posted December 21, 2006 Posted December 21, 2006 I was playing AOE3 and thought it'd be cool if some of these units were made out of legos. So I decided to make some and share them with yous guys. Feel free to post your AOE3 units on here. Also feel free to give compliments or gripes of my versions, or make better versions of the units and post them on here and compare. My own Bley Mortor. Actually I have two of them. The other one is pictured right below this one. Pretty much only used components from my bley Millenium Falcon set. In the game there isn't a horse drawn ammo cart. So I made one. I really neato thing i found out about putting bricks together. The 2x3 angeled plate fits very nicely onto those two technic half-pins. Try it out yourselves :'-) ! I was real excited when i accidently did this. (although i don't know how often it'll be handy :-| ) 3 German Black Riders (err mostly black X-D ). 4 French Cuirassiers. I've seen one's online (i think they're bonapart's) that have silver armor and helmets. They look a lot better with the silver armor and helmets. But i don't know where he got the silver helmets from. And i didn't want to paint the bricks i had. A link to my Brickshelf page. Another link to see the AOE3 units. Quote
hewkii9 Posted December 22, 2006 Posted December 22, 2006 Silver helmets like that are available, I believe. You could use silver grille helms [found in 8813, for starters]. I like the ammo cart. It's small and quite nice. Quote
Vaders_son Posted December 22, 2006 Posted December 22, 2006 There were 4 small castle sets some years ago and each of them contained one silver piece of armor. Helmet, Sword, Shield, Body Armor. I don't remember the setnumbers, sorry :-/ Vaders_son Germans and French soldiers are nice *y* Quote
Imperator Viktor Napoleon Posted December 23, 2006 Posted December 23, 2006 Awesome! I play AOE3 professionally (sorta) and it's great to see my favourite cavalry (cuirassiers) in lego. Quote
Norrington Posted December 23, 2006 Posted December 23, 2006 I Love AOE, i own them all! though i think the black riders should use black flintlocks, and be all black (no red) Quote

(hopefully) I Quote
Athos Posted December 28, 2006 Posted December 28, 2006 I'd actually been thinking about doing some of these from AOE2, since its more Castle-y. Steve Quote
Capn Frank Posted December 30, 2006 Author Posted December 30, 2006 Cool! You're so lucky :-D ! only in the last 5 years have i started having a lot of trouble with the building instructions. i'm always mixing up colors now because TLC has decided to make millions of colors and not improve the color scheme on the directions. anyways, if you have classic castle stuff, why don't you just take the blue bodies that have a silver breastplate printed on them, (they came with black arms) put on blus arms and red empuletes, and voila, instant curassiars, and you can feel free to send me that extra euro armour, plus, you can send them in an envolope because i live in minnesoata, just over the mississipi! As matter of fact i do have a bunch of classic castle. Hmm. I'm gonna have to try that. BTW what's the address of your house so i can send those extra armor pieces (j/k :-P ). Quote
Norrington Posted December 30, 2006 Posted December 30, 2006 i got the cc body idea from bonoparte's army but he useb lback torso's wiht no empulettes, and i htink the red empulets make him look like he's wearing the basic blue coat with a breast plate over. in fact, the torso's i'm talking about seem to be on your black riders, under the euro armour, just with black arms. Capn Frank Posted February 2, 2007 Author Posted February 2, 2007 Well I made another AOE3 unit. The organ gun: I managed to get 6 "barrels" down to only 4 studs wide with the binoculars. Dunno about the colors, but i like how it turned out. I made a slightly different version of the German Black Rider. Though i don't know if they're any better than the previous version. Quote
Capn Frank Posted February 2, 2007 Author Posted February 2, 2007 This might help :-) Dude those chrome helmets are expensive! I'm too cheap to buy them. Gotta wait until i'm done with college and work as an engineer. Then i'll get some of them. Quote

Then i'll get some of them. Or get some spraypaint and use that ;-) It can look just as good, or better than the official parts. Quote
Asuka Posted February 2, 2007 Posted February 2, 2007 Though i don't know if they're any better than the previous version. I *wub* the new version, and also your very charming organ gun. Cool work. *y* Quote
