Lord Of Pies Posted November 4, 2007 Posted November 4, 2007 1996?? ANyway, It is a quite nice small ship for its size but I don't really like such tiny ships really!! 8-| Quote
PiratesLegoFan Posted November 6, 2007 Posted November 6, 2007 I got mine in 1989. And it doesn't look as new and shiny anymore as the one on the pictures 8-|. Quote
Kliq Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 Yet another great LEGO Pirate set that I may never own... *sad* It looks great and has a real rugged feel to it. The colors are pretty solid and the crew is certainly substantial. I really like it when compared to the others, and a small fleet of them would look good on any shelf, especially mine, but I digress. :-D It is a shame (not for the sellers X-D ) that such classics go for high prices, and to ever find one reasonable, especially on ebay, you certainly have to be sly. But isn't that what being a Pirate is all about? *sweet* Or in this case Imperial, but I am sure there was a bit of corruption here or there within the ranks. 8- Quote
VBBN Posted November 8, 2007 Posted November 8, 2007 That parrot deserves a space in there! :-P Anyway, great review! I love those sails, and there is a good amount of figs with it. How much did it cost again? Anyway, It deseves a rightful 4.5 score. ;-) Quote
Quailane Posted November 21, 2007 Posted November 21, 2007 (edited) I bought this set on Ebay when Ebay was fairly new. I bought it because I couldn't afford either of the bigger ships. I really don't like this ship at all. It just doesn't look right. The stern isn't very attractive and the main mast and rigging just look bad to me. It is definitely one of the ugliest Lego ships. It lacks the grace of the other ships. It looks tubby and crude compared to my Imperial Flagship or even my Renegade Runner. To me, the only redeeming qualities are being able to fit 4 cannons in there and having a lot of useful parts. I give it a 2. Edited November 21, 2007 by Quailane Quote
Nikola Bathory Posted March 27, 2008 Posted March 27, 2008 The review is great! Very detailed! Good job! I own this ship and it is great indeed! I love the blue and white sails, so cool! Quote
Fluyt Posted May 30, 2008 Posted May 30, 2008 I bought this set on Ebay when Ebay was fairly new. I bought it because I couldn't afford either of the bigger ships. To me, the only redeeming qualities are being able to fit 4 cannons in there and having a lot of useful parts. I give it a 2. I almost totally agree with that, it also looks "empty", there's just not much there. But I think the stern looks ok, not great, but not that bad either. And I would really want some of those blue sails (and other usefull parts), so if I see one for cheap, I'd definately buy it. Quote
Antsa Antero Posted July 24, 2008 Posted July 24, 2008 (edited) Maybe this ship was a bit too small and short to have a big cabinet like in BSB. It could look a bit silly.. On the other hand, putting a small and low-height cabinet there wouldnt look good either cause the backbase-part in this ship is as big as in BSB What do you think guys, could this ship has cabinet and still look realistic? TheBrickHitHouse Posted January 4, 2009 Posted January 4, 2009 Holy hell - how is your set in such good condition? Mine ws bought in '89 and while its been on display ever since it looks like its whethered many a storm Quote
Capt. Kirk Posted January 5, 2009 Posted January 5, 2009 That's a very nice review! What I like about this ship are the large hull pieces. But it looks a bit unfinished. Also the rigging is unrealistic. I voted 4. I agree with Bonaparte... only I voted 3. Quote
Lorentzen Posted January 5, 2009 Posted January 5, 2009 Holy hell - how is your set in such good condition?Mine ws bought in '89 and while its been on display ever since it looks like its whethered many a storm Mine was also bought in 1989, but I've always been "neat" even as a boy, so I've always been cleaning the bricks on all my LEGO sets, because I couldn't stand to look at my stuff all dirty and dusty. You should definitely be able do the same to yours even now, although you've have the ship on display for so long Quote
Admiral BrickFin Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 I love that ship so much!!! It was my first ship and it is still complete, ahh sweet memories... Quote
