I'm getting a page that tells me that the website no longer exists at this address, and that I'm going to be redirected to the current website [from technicbricks.blogspot.com to technicbricks.com]

DNS changes takes time to propogate. Also DNS failures are not uncommon. So due to changes or failures, it's totally plausible that people on another continent (or another ISP) can see a site you can't :)

Hi Guys...

Thanks for your concerns and support!

This time TechnicBRICKs, is not working for me too!!... :cry_sad:

Few months ago I've redirected the blogsopt domain to www.technicbricks.com

One or two weeks ago I made it to answer also to technicbricks.com

At this point it should be reachable from several URLs

technicbricks.com

www.technicbricks.com

www.technicbricks.blogspot.com (or the suffix from your country as it started to happen some months ago - blogspot.xx)

Although since a few months I've been reported by some of you about occasional difficulties to reach the website.

At first I did not take it too seriously because I never experimented such problems.

Although about than two weeks ago I noticed that I was not able to access it through my 3G data card quite often, and then I realized that many times it was also no available trough my cell phone too! (the same mobile operator)

With some recent comments at TBs facebook companion page, that's when I realized there must be something really wrong!...

Yesterday morning I contacted the support hotline from my domain and hosting provider and they verified the DNS information configured was wrong.

dnserver19.esoterica.pt

dnserver3.esoterica.pt

And replaced it with the correct servers...

ns1.esoterica.com 80.172.241.133

ns2.esoterica.com 80.172.241.134

After a few hours it turned into the nightmare you already know, and some DNS diagnostic websites are reporting severe no to say fatal errors...

http://www.intodns.com/technicbricks.com

The blogspot URL also reports an weird message about the redirect configuration.

Of course I could revert it again to blogspot.com immediately, but don't know how fast it would be and this is not the way to solve the issues. It could turn things even worse.

So I prefer to wait and try to solve the whole situation rather then remedy it.

I also know that some who were not able to access yesterday, they already are again today (e.g in Netherlands)

Others in my country (Portugal) were still able to access yesterday night.

I've raised a ticket to my provider and I'm waiting some answer, which should happen still over the weekend. However the phone hotline will only become available again, next Monday.

It seems the DNS propagation information is not yet complete (far from that) and after +30h this seem quite too much for me...:thumbdown:

Like Blakbird wrote, it seems "Some ISPs must have the updated DNS information and others do not.".

I'll keep you posted about the evolution of this situation.

"Funny" enough I now have stable access from my mobile, but not from the fiber connection at home...

Meanwhile my ISP did not even touch the ticket!

It is just a matter of "Disruption of Service"... There should be much higher priority tickets to handle at the moment...

Dark weekend! :sceptic:

It worked for me when Ondra reported it is not working. It worked even yesterday. It does not work now. It looks like the NS changes are propagated and until it is complete, it will make problems. Or the change was wrong and it's propagation is making problems.

If the DNS info was wrong, there is nothing that your host can do to speed it up. It takes a couple of days to propagate to all the DNS servers worldwide. We just have to wait I guess.

Wonder how it was fairly working (well...more than fairly), with the wrong DNS entries...

Yeah, lets wait and see. Just hope it gets up for the big day...

Just learned it works for me now too, because I saw my banner reaper in the post above yours (it is hosted at TBs domain) :sweet::thumbup:

Meanwhile tested to access and it is really work at my desktop.

Hope it is to stay and that the change has definitely solved the sporadic issues some of you were experiencing in the past months.

Although some of you may still need to wait some more time, until your ISP DNS servers gets the new DNS information propagated.

TechnicBRICKs seems to work fine one day for me and then I cannot access it at all the next... I have had this problem for a few months....

Likely since I've activated the redirect.

Hopefully the DNS update that was made yesterday, will solve you this issue forever... :sceptic:

I've just confirmed the weird message on Blogger about the redirect, is also gone.

Hence the original URL (www.technicbricks.blogspot.com) is also working now flawlessly.

That reminds me, I need to update the link at my website for TechnicBRICKs to the new address... I am gonna do that right now..

Both should remain working!

Although the update won't hurt anybody and something shorter as technicbricks.com will be easier to remind.

Well the old link would take you to a screen saying that TechnicBRICKs had moved to www.technicbricks.com and then you had to click on a redirect link, so I eliminated the unnecessary extra click...
