I see the new 2H2012 sets are now available on S@H US website. I'm kind of tossed up between the Helicopter, which can be motorized, but it really doesn't say what can be motorized, I would hope the top and rear propellers? If that's the case, due to the high pricetag of the Crawler, I would go for that one. Anybody know about how the motorizing works with the Helicopter? If its not the propellers, its really not worth it, don't want to waste my money, got plenty of PF parts but it isn't real clear on the S@H site, only that it uses the 8293 set, hopefully since doesn't say anything about those new L-motors in the Crawler...

I'm going for 9396, and you should to. all functions can be motorized, including rotors! The crawler, on the other hand, is very, very expensive.:thumbdown::cry_sad:

Agreed my friend, I shall follow your lead! Think I'll pick up the 9393 Tractor just for the b model, the dune buggy/racer looks cool for a low price...

One word "crawler" it's the biggest and best set,the helicopter is not very realistic and it doesn't do anything without turning boring nob wheels.

Althought i haven't any off road vehicle I think I'm gonna buy the Crawler even for the new motors, but must wait to see the price in Italy and think I'm gonna buy it 4 Xmas. As far as the copter concerns, i think I'm gonna buy it too even if I expected more realism considered that is relased about 10yrs after the 8856 that I consider the real rescue copter. Yes in the new model you can open the ramp and the main rotor movements are improved but the tail rotor remained the same :hmpf_bad: :hmpf_bad: .

Just do what i do.

First the 9396. I've been crazy about this set since the first pictures. It got som new fastastic blades and has all (but 1)functions done by turning one little knob.. So lots of gears and switches.

(All functions can be PF-ed later on.)

Then the 9398 but since it is very costly and is "just  " a car you can get it for christams..

I'm actually going to pick up the Unimog first before they stop selling it online. Then by the time I can get the Crawler, it'll be in-stock since the initial rush will be over!

@davidmull - I know, in retrospect I should have thought a bit more and gotten the Crawler, but man that steep price intimidated me, you can motorize the Helicopter w/ an 8293 PF set, but still I keep looking at that Crawler and thinking well, can't afford it now, I ordered just the copter and the tractor just for the 'b' model dune buggy, that's kind of cool looking...

@sted - Holy cow!! They came to the USA before the UK for the first time in a long while with summer releases? I bought a Tow Truck(9395) with just the VIP points I had, it covered that, the shipping, so my total was $0.00 owed and I still had another $15 to spend beyond that, so I used them on the copter (wish the motor was strong enough to make it lift off, that would be ultimate nuts, but with my flying skills, I'd probably end up crashing it if it were RC) and the tractor(blah, looks like a repeat of the 8049's tractor w/ the really blah 8284's rear rotor blades), but I plan to make the b model racer. For some reason, I love lime colored parts, have 3 8649 Nitro Menaces, even though the only lime on the 9393 is the fairings...

@JsG - you make me feel a bit better then, I actually was more into the copter from the start, it has lots of gears and some incredible looking mechanisms, I was actually enthralled with since seeing the preliminary pics...I thought well, the Crawler is just another 4x4" Off-Roader(albeit RC this time), and I already have the 8466 4x4 from 2001 and the 8297 from 2008, so figured I'd try something non-land based for a change. I do have the 8068 copter and the 9394 plane, but obviously those small sets don't hold a candle to this thing, when I read the S@H description that it was 28" long, its got to be the longest Technic model I have and I have most all since 2004, and a few I have acquired during my come and go dark ages. Then maybe come Xmas time like you said, maybe I'll pick up the 9398...maybe
