Sure! Once I finish the lower area of the tree I'm working on right now I'll post it!

Edit: Here's some pictures!

[snip]

Thank you. So you are using trees as houses which seems to work out fine. I am looking forward to seeing the finished thing. I am still in the planning phase and somewhat stuck between aesthetics. For me, wood elves hoover between 'wood' and 'elves' (surprise). The wood part demands organic structures and reduced complexity as in forest people living in the trees or Ewok-like tree-top living. The Elf part needs tall, fragile, complex and cultivated structures as in High Elf towers and cathedrals. Bringing both together in an Elf theme seems like a difficult task.

I doubt that. Fantasy Era Castle was ended back in 2009, and the LOTR license was announced only less than a year ago.

You don't think they would have been in talks with Newline/WB much earlier than that?

I do, but I don't think they would have been so sure that they will actually get the license back in 2008/2009 that they would cancel a popular theme. Heck, I don't even think they made the S3 Elf with the LOTR theme in mind, seeing as they didn't even use that hair piece for that theme. I could be wrong though, and this is getting a bit off topic.

I don't know... I think discussing a dedicated elf theme is on topic, and why they didn't do it before doesn't seem like it goes too far off topic. I still say they wanted a clean, non-fantasy slate, even if it was before negotiations, or when the negotiations were in their infancy.

Regardless, I do think LOTR may have killed any chance we'll get an elf theme (or return to fantasy) any time soon. I'd like to throw out there that the "evil" dwarf fits in this discussion, too, so I would expect that if a theme came out of it, it would include both (and maybe others, like a minotaur and fairy).

I agree, the LotR license will probably keep fantasy themes at bay for a while. Though there are a lot of cool pieces and figures from the LotR sets that are useful in a fantasy setting. There are great printed torso and leg pieces; the reuse of pieces like the detailed spear/pike that was previously only available in the Roman Soldier/Spartan figures; and some figures like the orcs (Moria or Mordor) could fit into a fantasy theme quite easily. Even the Uruk-hai, I suppose, though personally whenever I see their gear I immediately think of the movies.

I think it would be interesting to see a fantasy theme from the non-human point of view. Build up some mountain/cave sets for minotaurs or the evil dwarves, some forest structures for elves and fairies etc. Hell, even the series 5 Lizard Man could be turned into a tribe. Just replace his yellow head with a red or black head, and he's got an angry mouth. Personally, I've already collected quite a few of those figures for just such a purpose. (Although that S8 fairy looks pretty ugly, so maybe I'll pass on her.)

If LEGO were to ever turn those into official sets I couldn't give them my money fast enough.

I would say, not a new theme but a mega-expansion of an old theme.....CITY.

We have a butcher, mechanic, mime, clowns, DJ, rapper, dancers, businessman, bride, etc., etc., etc.,.

A supermarket for the butcher to work at, a circus for the clowns, a concert stage for the DJ and rapper to perform on, a hair salon for the bride to have her hair set at and the list can go on and on.

Just the tigers two cents worth.

I would really love any of the sports mini figures developed into a theme. I really missed that theme, especially the hockey arena, basketball courts, and soccer fields. I was so sad when the theme ended. :cry_sad:

No circus! They're cruel to animals. I'd be furious if Lego made a circus. Grrrrrr. :damn:

You can have a circus without animals.

I'd like a Lego Fantasy theme (or a return of/wave 2). The dwarves and trolls were what drew me out of my 'dark age' and I was really looking forward to seeing what lego would come up with (imagine a lego elf/forestmen type set with treehouses etc!). I think non-licensed sets are a lot more creative.

A Greek-type mythology theme would be great also.

But a circus would help out the need for many new animal molds!

No Lego animals were hurt in the making of this product.

Not to downplay any animal cruelty made by individuals, but as unfortunate as it is in the real world, a Lego circus would not harm any animals and children do not know/realize that those animals may or may not be mistreated. They go to a good show and see things they normally wouldn't see, therefore they could create a little world/show with their Lego figures.

With that said, I would like to see a more early 1910s-40s theme for the gangster or English trader. Something to show a more classic City look, especially with new ideas for vintage looking automobiles. I normally don't care about city, but I would welcome that in a heartbeat. Even move it a few decades earlier to include the Sherlock detective. As much as I would like 1930s/40s vehicles, I would also welcome more elaborate horse drawn carriages.

I would really like the zombie figure become a theme. I know we have already got a zombie set from MF, but I want a full out theme. It could be regular humans VS. zombies. I could think of a million ideas for sets, and I know it would be a hit based on how many people and kids love zombies.
