deskp Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 Hello, http://www.kocke.si/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6277 Thanks! can you get us the larger versions of the images, they all seem to have been resized to fit the forum. and being able to zoom into details would be good.
Jack Bricker Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 Hello, http://www.kocke.si/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6277 Very nice. Helms Deep is looking better and better and I am really looking forward to the new troll. I am also very curious how the new Sting mold will look. Oh, I just cannot wait until June/July when I can get these sets. Thank you for posting those pictures.
MstrOfPppts Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 Sombody's been a bad boy No, he states there, he only put on the pics he was allowed to and that he won't disobey any rules - meaning he has more ...
deskp Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 No, he states there, he only put on the pics he was allowed to and that he won't disobey any rules - meaning he has more ... ..Meaning everyones allowed to take pictures of the LOTR sets??? Why havent we seen more!?
MstrOfPppts Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 This guy is the head of our LUG, I don't know how the TLG "rankings" work, but don't think anyone is allowed to take pics ... because not everyone would publish only what is allowed!?
Plissken Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 Thank you for the picture. The sets looks really great (from what you can see). The brown horses (Gandalfs and Theodens) seems to have a white blaze on their head. The head looks also different than previous horsemolds. Very exciting This is going to be a must buy theme for me this year.
wesker Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 Helms Deep and Shelob look fantastic! Its just a shame it looks like we won't be getting variations of Aragorn and Frodo in the first wave.
Plissken Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 Helms Deep and Shelob look fantastic! Its just a shame it looks like we won't be getting variations of Aragorn and Frodo in the first wave. Frodo looks different in the "Gandalf Arrives" Set Maybe they used only placeholder figs for the display. It is possible that they are different at the NY Toy Fair.
Cammo Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 I read that the set with Gandalf, Frodo wears his outfit from in the movie which is a olive greenish shirt with oversized suspenders. And the Shelob-set he wears his gear like in all the other pictures released from Lego (with his brown vest). So this means it's worth picking both up.
Ash Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 http://www.kocke.si/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6277 Sweet. They're looking better every time I see them. One thing I thought was interesting is that the big Monster Hunter castle seems to be a very similar colour (if not the same) as Helm's Deep. If you can pick it up cheap at some point might be a good source of bricks for extending it!
andhe Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 The cave troll in the Moria set (at the back) looks great. And by the looks of things Legolas' hair goes all the way down his back, so no quiver :( Would really like to see a close up of the new horse soon!
JackJonespaw Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 So Weathertop does open... It looks like the stairs on Weathertop is a new piece, or some 2 x 4 tiles somehow put together... Shelob looks great, very proportional with the minifigs. I absolutely love Helms Deep. The sand green colors on it are very nice.
Fives Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 I really hope that the Rohan flag means there is more interior to Helm's Deep! These sets look amazing!!!!! It appears that all the Rohirrim have the same helmet mold based on Theoden's helmet, which is fine. I also noticed that Theoden has the same sword as Boromir and Aragorn, which is saddening, since he should have a special sword and the sword he has looks nothing like Herugrim. Also, yes, the Frodo in the Gandalf Arrives set is different. He has a green shirt and no vest, which is accurate to the scene. And I also have a very strong feeling that the new horses are just that, NEW horses. They won't just be an altered version of the old mold, but rather a completely new one that fits in better with the more recent animals. I am so excited!!!!!
Cammo Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 (edited) If you take a good look to the Shelob there is a wheel underneath her body. Does this mean that you can swivel the legs or something. Look like an interesting play-feature for the kids. And on top of the picture, you can see the minifigures lined up. Too bad we can't get a good view of them ;) Edited February 3, 2012 by Cammo
Emperor Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 (edited) Hey, where's the Orc Forge? I guess it is too far to the left to be seen - the Uruk Army isn't completely visible neither. It is somewhat a pity that the picture is focused on Shelob as we got a pretty good look at her on that poster yesterday, but at least you can see the other side of Helm's Deep - I love the small door, there is even some sort of catapult to get Gimli across. I still need it needs some expansion to increase playability.
Nebsirob Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 (edited) I wonder, why they changed Shelob's legs. On the poster the middle part of them is (from bottom to top) brown 1x4 plate, black hinge-plates, and the brown 1x2 tile, whereas the shown model has the hinge-plates, and the 1x4 plate in an reversed order. General Magma Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 (edited) These look amazing, looking forward to some good close-ups. And it looks like there's a new pony in the 'Gandalf Arrives' set! It's quite obvious that it's not a horse, since it's roughly the size of Frodo. (Height) The pony's legs are shorter as well, so that's another new mold we can take into note, then. I just hope the horse's heads are not entirely new, though, or else not very different from the old ones. This is because of all the old horses I have, but then again.. I'm giving the old horses I have a helmet so it won't be hard to hide the old one's heads to effectively use them along with the new ones. And, is that a new 'half of a carrot' piece I spot? Look at Merry's hand and you'll know what I mean. And I'm sure that Sting is a new mold, whereas Merry uses the gladiator sword in the Weathertop set. And now, after a look at those Uruk-hai, it's confirmed that they use pearl dark grey armor. Much better - I feared that they were planning to use dark bluish grey. Shelob looks pretty great, but I just hope they'll change the wires to white.. Black would be very inaccurate. Hopefully someone will jump in here and show us some good close-ups of every set, I'm not sure if I can wait for another week.. I was thinking the same thing. The more of Helm's Deep I see the better it looks. I still need it needs some expansion to increase playability. For that, we're getting the 'Uruk-hai Attack' set. ~ General Magma Edited February 3, 2012 by General Magma
Dharkan Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 I have a question guys, LoTR is being produced in Europe factories or US(or Mexico which is close to US I guess :p) ?
deskp Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 I have a question guys, LoTR is being produced in Europe factories or US(or Mexico which is close to US I guess :p) ? A combination of all their factories.
Dharkan Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 Oh nice, thank you. Because when they are made in US only, it is quite a bit difference in between US and Europe and shipping costs too much from US. :<
Poison Ivy Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 So Weathertop does open... It looks like the stairs on Weathertop is a new piece, or some 2 x 4 tiles somehow put together... Nope, it's this piece, used previously in Hogwarts Castle.

Also I wouldn't think the end consumer would have to pay more or less depending on the factories location. The documentary on discovery made it seem like all lego sets are distributed from one place
